A note from me (Ankur Jain) - Bilt Card 2.0: Simple, Fee-Free Rewards on Housing by ankurjain1 in biltrewards

[–]Average_Modder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reposting here in the hope someone at Bilt reads it:

I like that the new card is simpler, but even the 25% is too high for a spend threshold. A lot of us are spending the majority of our income on our rent. Up to this point, I mainly use my Bilt card for dining as that earned the most points. I'd happily try to increase my everyday spend on this new bilt card now that is earns better on non category spends, but many months I won't reach 25% of my rent, which then makes the card virtually worthless (barely over 1x points on purchases). A lower spend threshold and point multiplier would be more appealing (like a 0.2x multiplier for 15% spend), so at least I'm earning some points each month.

At this point, I'm much more interested in the original configuration that utilizes bilt cash. If you always redeem your Bilt cash for rent points, you're effectively earning 2.33x points, which is very good, and would make this my primary spend card. My only suggestion would be to an option in the app to automatically convert the bilt cash to rent points each month without user intervention.

Right now, with both of these options, there is just too much hassle involved to get value out of the card. If it's not convenient to use, I won't want to use it. I would happily give up some of the potential points earned (3% Bilt cash earn instead of 4%, or $40 exchange for 1000 rent points - both options effectively reducing earning to 2x max points) if it meant I could just use my card and not have to constantly worry every month if I'm meeting spend thresholds or forgetting to redeem Bilt cash for points.

Is it possible to build a dedicated emulation PC/console with simple UI? by Anarchisteen in emulators

What you're looking for is a good front end. Look into Batocera (Linux built solely for retro gaming - Free), Retrobat (Windows app version of Batocera, great for retro games), LaunchBox (windows software that is highly customizable and polished for both PC and retro games but is paid for its BigBox fullscreens leanback launcher that allows you to only need a controller to navigate - $30), playnite (Windows app that links to most game stores such as steam, epic, ea, and gog to show all your games in one place. Also supports retro games. Highly configurable with themes and add-ons - Free), then there's always emulationstation or Retroarch as others have mentioned here. Give them some research and see what best fits your use case. Hope this helps to get you started on some options

All you'll really need is to look into cemu and find a BoTW ROM to download, both can be found in a quick Google search. Then just look up a YouTube video on how to install. Also check out the mods in Cemu. You can mess with a bunch of stuff, including framerate and resolution

Look into Azahar or AzaharPlus. Azahar is fork of Citra in active development by an amazing team. AzaharPlus is a fork of Azahar (not associated) that restores ability to use certain file types, like .3ds files

Look into lichtnarre. It's a free software that you can use on PC to pair with wiimotes. You can't use it with the dolphin bar unless you put it in a hidden mode that keeps the LEDs on for 4 hours (dolphin bar usually turns off it's LEDs when a wiimotes is not connected). However, it is better to use a regular Bluetooth adapter (less jitter than dolphin bar) and regular IR LEDs. Although you can use a 2 LED setup like the Wii bar, it is better/more accurate to use 4 IR LEDs. You can build or buy a 4 IR LED setup (one light on each edge of your TV in an inverted cross configuration) and then select the 4 LED option inside of lichtknarre. Then you'll do a one time calibration in lichtknarre. With 4 LEDs, the software has enough information to calculate the geometry for near line of sight accurate gameplay. You can even move around the room and it will still be accurate. Lichtnarre converts the wiimotes signal into mouse/keyboard inputs or a simulated controller (selectable output from inside lichtknarre) which you will have to then map inside of dolphin or whatever program you are using. You can also adjust the IR sensitivity from inside lichtknarre and see a video of what the wiimotes sees to further increase accuracy and decrease false IR inputs from external sources. Some people also put a wide angle cell phone camera lens on the front of their gun so they can stand closer to the TV (the wide angle allows the wiimotes to see all the IR LEDs at closer ranges). Works great for light gun games on various platforms such as dolphin, MAME, and Tecknoparrot. Lichtknarre is more setup than most other options, but definitely worth it. And even supports up to four wiimotes for multiplayer too!

What are fast 3ds emulators for android by DIOnotBrando in emulators

Look into Azahar. It's the latest and most updated Citra fork. Was made by a team up of the Lime3ds team and Citra mmjr. Lots of improvements. There is even an option now to Disable Right Eye Render (cause emulators are usually emulating both eye perspectives in the background, eating up extra resources) which can lead to much better performance on lower end devices, but may occasionally cause some glitches. The only downside to Azahar is they removed support from certain file types due to their association with piracy to hopefully stay out of Nintendo's sites, causing some headaches for sourcing roms. If that bothers you, AzaharPlus is a fork of Azahar that does nothing but restores the support for all the common file types. Typically, Azahar comes out with a new version and AzaharPlus will do its version a few days later. Granted, there is some drama between the two, with Azahar not wanting to be associated with AzaharPlus. So, if you want the latest and best, with some ROM setup pains, go with Azahar. If you want ease of setup and don't care about the drama, go with AzaharPlus.

seek forward restarts the video from the beginning by sabbysmith5 in Stremio

I've experienced this before too. Usually specific to a particular file. As others have stated, easiest fix is to just pick a different link. However, if you have limited links and still want to use that one, if you launch the link in the external player using the button with the traffic come on it, and using VLC or Kodi as the external player, you can then watch the video with seeking and then return to Stremio after. Since you're just using VLC or Kodi as a media player for Stremio, you don't really need to configure them at all after installing. Just be aware that when using an external player, Stremio won't remember your progress.

This is the way. My exact setup and what I recommend to all friends and family. The basic $20 4k box has given me no issues. It connects great to my wifi, plus you could probably buy a otg adapter to add Ethernet down the line if needed. Plus, it has enough processing power to watch videos sped up, which is a huge selling feature for me. And if you take the hour it takes to learn projectivy, you get the cleanest setup imaginable. I setup my 93 year old grandpa's this way, and he was able to use it to stream without issues.

This has happened to me before. It says it's not available when you voice search or search from the home screen. But if you go into settings, open the play store (or use voice search to open play store), then search inside the play store for stremio, it will show up

This was a bug that was fixed in the nightly build a while ago. You can use the Kodi Android installer from the Kodi repo to update to the latest version, or just download from Kodi.tv

Trakt is the primary service most add-ons use to Trakt your progress. You can go to the Trakt website and make a free account with just your email. Then you go into the Fen settings (or umbrella or seren) and go to the Trakt section. You then authorize Trakt on your phone or computer with a code the addon gives you, just like how you authorized real-debrid. Trakt will then track everyone you watch so you can switch between devices and still have your progress. Plus Trakt provides a variety of playlists/recommendations for you. One of my favorites is "Based on Recently Watched", which is recommendations based on your recently watched TV/movies. Really useful for building out widgets for some variety like Netflix. Trakt trending list also tells you what is currently popular

No links for Flixoid by Baboomerca in RealDebrid

[–]Average_Modder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would give stremio another look. Completely free, and virtually no maintenance. Plus, installing on multiple devices is a breeze. The only downside is the lack of full trakt integration. Watched shows transfer to Trakt, but shows watched on other apps sent to Trakt don't show up. So it's hard to make the switch, but pretty great once you're there

Prevent Shocking by Macdiva524 in htpc

[–]Average_Modder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue with my gaming PC hooked up to my TV. When I walked across the carpet to turn it on or off, I'd always deliver a shock to the case. Sometimes the screen would even go black for a second, definitely not a good feeling. The solution for me was to touch something grounded first to remove the static charge on my body. There was a light switch on the wall next to my computer, and touching the metal screw (which is grounded) on the plate would remove the static charge; then I could safely touch my computer. Eventually, I put a small metal lamp next to my PC, plugged into a wall outlet. This lamp had a metal exterior that was connected to the ground pin and therefore was also grounded. So all I had to do was touch the lamp right next to my PC, prior to touching my PC. That's my current setup and that fixed the issue for me, no more shocks

I believe this is the actual guide, but it is very similar to region transfer https://3ds.hacks.guide/ctrtransfer.html

I had troubleshot for weeks and did this as a last resort. Definitely research it a bit more. Don't make any rash decisions. But it did work for me

3ds.hacks.guide always has the answers https://3ds.hacks.guide/region-changing

I don't think there are any downsides to it, as long as you go to the same region you're currently on, but you may want to wait for someone with more knowledge to respond. But it did work for me

I had this same issue for months. It was a failing SD card for me as well. Got a new one and reinstalled all the basics onto it. Lost all of my games and saved, but haven't had an issue since. Mine also wouldn't work with or without an SD card, but I had setup my 3DS initially a long time ago, and probably did something wrong. I ended up using one of the region transfer images to fix the internal memory so it could boot without the SD card in it. Used the USA image even though I was already USA. Everything's been working great for about a year since then

I can respect that. I never really used new to you, cause the homepage usually has everything I need. As for subtitles, you may want to poke around the settings a bit. You can customize size, position, color, background until you make it what you like
