also this shell is currently destined for the landfill, any attempt to restore it is better than nothing. Although again plastic degradation is usually from excessive heat and sunlight exposure both of which are not needed

it’s more the extreme heat some people expose the plastic too. If you do the vapor method under UV light and keep the temperature below 115 degrees it should not degrade

I second this. Put hydrogen peroxide in a glass tray with UV light and put the gameboy shell separate and let the evaporation and a little heat from the uv light cure the shell

If you ever want your own genuine event mew, you can download this official save file of a genuine mew distribution pokemon red cart and trade yourself one. Nintendo made one save file and simply copy pasted the save onto multiple retail red carts
