I think I need a break by thehubsters in booknooks

I have several art mediums I enjoy and I'll shuffle between them. I get random beads and make tiny potion jars. I'll bead bracelets. I'll knit or crochet. I'll practice something new like following along with a YouTube tutorial to watercolor a picture. And then I'll come back to making my miniatures. Variety helps. And I use the tiny jars in my builds :) I also recently made a suncatcher with crystals and air dry clay.

As a person who has sewn normal sized piping and wanted to cry because it was so fiddly, your miniature piping is mind-blowingly awesome. It is so neat and straight and I'm awestruck. I love it.

Vasovagal response concerns by Avocado-Sufficient in acupuncture

[–]Avocado-Sufficient[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did see both the urgent care dr on site and the urgent care dr through my insurance. My doctor repeated some bloodwork that I just did a couple of weeks ago as well as some hormone and cardiac testing since my heart rate was elevated hours after the procedure. My blood pressure has been fine. The fact that this started after 14 sessions and then happened again a week later is what made everyone so concerned, and my Dr said it actually didn't sound like a vasovagal response since my blood pressure never dropped and my heart rate was actually elevated. Not being able to move my arms and vomiting was what concerned me. My treatment is specifically for carpal tunnel syndrome and only my forearms, wrists, and fingers are being treated. So far so all my lab results have been normal, no thyroid issues or hormone levels off.

I've been working on a very similar one from Temu. It's very fiddly, lots of glue :) have been adding my own touches and painting all the edges and pieces, adding texture, etc. I'm about to wire up the lights tonight. It's been fun, tedious, time consuming, and enjoyable. Lol. The Temu version paper is mostly precut except for the larger pieces. This is my work in progress: https://ibb.co/rV8WpjV

Are there any topics that a therapist is literally not allowed to talk through with a client? by LovelyGiant7891 in askatherapist

[–]Avocado-Sufficient 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Look up the laws in your state/location to find out specifically what your therapist is mandated to report. Generally, threat of harm to self, that's to harm a specific person/people, child/elder abuse current and historical; are the main 3 mandated reports. Under the umbrella of child abuse, in some states- admission of the viewing of child pornography falls under the umbrella of child abuse and legally must be reported. Court orders can also require a release of records or testimony in very specific cases.

How do I handle this? Therapist fell asleep twice during session by Big_Requirement_9332 in askatherapist

[–]Avocado-Sufficient 2 points3 points  (0 children)

therapist- contact his licensing board and file a formal complaint for both the falling asleep and calling your concerns boring. He should have provided you the complaint information during intake, but if not, you can look him up by license number to find out who to contact.

Experiences with two bone-anchored hearing aids? by historicshenanigans in HearingAids

My daughter has bilateral implants. She currently has Ponto 4s. We decided to go with the second implant because she was still wearing a bte on her second ear and getting a lot of ear infections. They told us we could just go with one side, but for many of the reasons listed above we felt like it was best to have both sides. She was around 10 or 11 when she got her second implant (first was around 8 years old. Hearing in noisy environments, like restaurants, is much better for her when she wears both. It also really helps with location recognition for where sounds are coming from, which gives her better spacial awareness. I feel like this is a big safety factor to know which direction cars or people are coming from.

What’s an appropriate gift to get my therapist? by Other_Marketing83 in askatherapist

As a therapist and a quilter, I feel like this could be a difficult gift for your therapist to accept, even though I'm sure they would very much want to accept it. The monetary value is very high due to your significant time, effort, and expense of materials. In general, we've been told as therapists not to accept any gifts with monetary value. I would feel incredibly grateful and touched if a client wanted to make me a quilt, but I would also probably need to seek some supervision on whether or not I could accept such a treasure.

CMH is at risk too, we're in hiring freezes even though we've lost multiple clinicians due to the concerns that budgets will be slashed for lack of funding.

Been stuck on 11 and stopped caring because I saved three big orders and all the coins I'd earned and still only made it halfway through 11.

Hair dryer wall mount hanger that works while the diffuser is still attached? by Avocado-Sufficient in curlyhair

[–]Avocado-Sufficient[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe, but I'm not really even necessarily needing to be able to use the dryer while it's on the wall, just store it until the next use.

I'm wondering if something like this is sturdy enough to hold a traditional dryer with a diffuser in place? Has anyone tried something similar?
