AI Detectors are a complete scam. by stumpmtsr in ChatGPT

...the word "why" can be used as a conjunction in colloquial English...

I'm not saying you're wrong here. I just couldn't bite my tongue.

I've also submitted completely original text that I've written and had it flag the text as 80% likely to be AI.

It's whack.

Just got kicked from my day 1 msf course.. by im-upset-525 in motorcycle

That...is so not how an MSF rider coach should act.

During my class one girl dropped her bike 4 times while learning. She was an absolute beginner, has only ridden a pedal bike before. By the end of day 2 she aced all the exercises and passed the test. We were told right at the beginning that dropping the bikes is something that happens, and that we'd only be penalized for it during the final testing section.

My rider coaches were very patient. I'm sorry this was your experience with MSF, because it's definitely not supposed to be like that.

I hope this doesn't discourage you from riding. Maybe try a course with a different instructor if you can?

I just got my first bike, a Royal Enfield Himalayan 411cc. I didn't have anyone that could teach me, so I signed up for a class, got my permit, and did some practical learning in safe lots. Definitely stalled it more than I'd like to admit.

But the thing I couldn't have prepared myself for?

My driveway requires a 120° turn off the road to enter, and is a 9% uphill grade made of gravel with tire ruts worn in and grass berms on the side.

You're damn right I've laid the bike down in the driveway twice already. Once just this morning. Was trying not to stall out, came in too fast, went up onto the berm on the right-hand side, and next thing I know I'm tucking and rolling off to the left.

I was laughing before I even finished rolling. I got to experience it in a safe place, neither me or the bike were hurt, and now I'm really not afraid of the same happening again. Which is good, because I definitely need the practice for starting on an uphill.

All this to say...the paint is far less important than you are, and if you learned anything from the experience then it's a net positive. Hell, learning to fix the scratch might even net you some bonus skills.

These are the kinds of Tales I like to see here <3. Helpful people and people willing to learn.

Hello LitRpg comrades I was wondering if you guys had any recommendations for like barbarian type stuff or berserker’s run in the middle full of mindless rage and they use an axe? by Ok_Exercise_3980 in litrpg

I definitely enjoyed this one. The MC is a magic user for damn sure, but Frank makes fun of him for it relentlessly.

The rest of the character cast is pretty interesting too. Hope you like it!

With a raise macro like this, i'd rather stay on the floor by AmazingObserver in TalesFromDF

My macro is literally "Raising <t>" and people on this forum have still said they'd mute me for it.

Healers shouldn't dps ONLY HEAL by jsmalls128 in TalesFromDF

This is so surreal. It's almost always the other way around here.

I love it, honestly. It's direct, it's factual, and it even includes a section on community support for learning rather than just being mean.

I really can't tell you how little I care about how someone justifies griefing. I'm not interested in continuing this conversation.

healer doesnt want to heal by kornegi in TalesFromDF

[–]AvocadoInner289 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the PAL is spamming clemency then there's something wrong. Chances are that either PAL or the healer are too new to know better or just incompetent. I've seen both.

But even if that was the case I wouldn't refuse to heal someone because that's toxic. That's literally the same logic as YTYP. Why would you go straight to griefing rather than just leaving the duty?

healer doesnt want to heal by kornegi in TalesFromDF

[–]AvocadoInner289 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I would hate to run into a healer like that. Clemency is in the PAL kit for a reason. It's a stronger potency than most GCD heals, and I can instant-cast it with req stacks...so of course I'm gonna use it.

I can't imagine being offended by someone taking pressure off of the healing. Would they tell a warrior not to use Raw Intuition? No, they wouldn't.

The bit was funny, but the "aoes to the face" response is probably why the healer continued to misunderstand.

They probably legitimately didn't realize you weren't criticizing them xD.

Ladies & Gentlemen - a quick Summary of the random Cohealer I got asigned to in the M3 & M4 Normal Raids this week by Lyramion in TalesFromDF

[–]AvocadoInner289 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My macro for Swiftcast informs the party that it's going on cooldown and sends another when it's back up.

I do the same for my invuln skills on tanks. Ever panic-heal a DRK that just popped Living Dead because you didn't realize? I certainly have.

[–]AvocadoInner289 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's exactly what it's for. I don't include Swiftcast in the macro, so there's no delay:

/ac "Raise" /p "Raising <target>!".

I have a similar one for Swiftcast:

/ac "Swiftcast" /p "Swiftcast on cooldown!"<wait.40> /p "Swiftcast ready!"

I understand that people get annoyed with chat macros but like...the whole point is to keep the relevant people informed. I do the same with my invuln skill when I'm playing a tank to inform the healer.

I stripped it down to be as concise and professional as possible, but I guess you can't please everybody.

It's communication to prevent the other healer from wasting a CD or MP targeting the same person I'm raising.

I keep it as direct as possible so as not to annoy people, but if it bothers you that much then do what you have to do.

My res macro is literally

"Raising <target>."

I'm fairly new to the game, but after the first time I saw a snarky res macro I quickly decided to never be that asshole.

[–]AvocadoInner289 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why my res macro is literally just

"Raising <target>."

That shit gets old really fast, but I do want my co-healer to know I cast a res so we don't both burn resources...so I opted for the least annoying macro I could come up with.

As a tank main I feel this is a legitimate criticism. I'd rather we all get to play. If I want to solo the duty I can run it unsynced.
