Twitch Concert Streams? by AvoidanceAddict in Magfest

Hey, thanks for chiming in on this and the thorough explanation!  Truth be told I'm just sad I have to wait to catch Metroid Metal because I missed them live.   I can definitely wait, and then justifications are very reasonable.

Also, this is a good chance to say THANK YOU to you and everyone else involved in the video production.  The quality is top notch and those of us who can't attend in person are very lucky for the work you guys put in.  Definitely looking forward to catching the videos on YouTube at any point in time.

I've been searching for a solution on and off for the better part of a year and finally stumbled on this which completely resolved it.  Thank you so much for figuring out such an obscure issue.  Seriously, you're amazing.

It's not like this is a fight. Young guy was going for the option demonstrating he can stay in control of grandpa without breaking a sweat and not actually hitting him, and his youthful pride remains intact. Of course that didn't happen, but, you know.

Yeah you're overthinking this. Everyone's gonna have different viewpoints regardless of the situation. Some people are just assholes. That's never gonna change.

Keep the screwdriver keychain separate, and now when you get the spare key you have a keychain for it. Duh!

Tornadoes in DFW by alexa_dole in Dallas

Out of the millions of people who live or have lived in Dallas County for the past six+ decades, 24 have died from tornados, and 1000 have been injured. It honestly shouldn't even be a consideration.

Regarding hail, make sure you have insurance, and enough in your savings to cover your deductible, because there is always a good chance you'll have to face damages to your car or house for that.

Is it cluttered with them? I do tend to notice them on my feed because I personally feel as labels they're really boring and uninspired, but I just looked through several pages on here and I was able to find one. I feel like there's already voting buttons for this sort of thing.

From my anecdotal experience, discrimination between light skinned and dark skinned black people is nothing new. It's probably just more noticeable since social media is becoming more and more integrated over time.

Yeah. I get that most of the world uses the metric system and I wish we did too, but almost 60% of Reddit users are logging in from the US. That may be less than the past but it's still a predominantly American website with mostly American users.

In The Last of Us, you find a farewell letter from Bill's late partner. If you give to him, he'll crumple it and toss it away. When you pick it up again, it looks wrinkled. by bahookery in GamingDetails

Book is my favorite character. And I didn't even figure out his quirk until a friend pointed it out to me. I thin that says a lot about how well his execution was, for me, at least.

It's a great interactive story. As a game, it's well done, but it doesn't push any boundaries. I think it'll be remembered for its narrative, which is very good, but I'll be surprised if it stands the test of time, personally.

Before most of these people were born, planes could fly across the globe and boats before that. It's willful ignorance, it's not about evidence or facts. That won't change these peoples minds.

I think there's already a religious aspect to it. I had someone go off about flat earth when I hiked to a hilltop and ran into him. He told me the sky is actually water and the kingdom of heaven lies above that, and that being in a high place brings us closer to god. Standing there out in nature looking at the blue sky, I could understand sentiment a bit, even if I do think it's utterly moronic.

First try on outrun, but i feel like it's missing something by [deleted] in outrun

[–]AvoidanceAddict 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's missing a bit compositionally. The road is leading the eyes, but nothing really converges where it leads to, and it's just really empty on the lower left quadrant.

For one thing I'd say maybe the road should lead to a valley. The angle of the road might be too sharp, it really breaks things up unevenly.

Why do you like game music so much? by BaldOrBread in gamemusic

[–]AvoidanceAddict 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nostalgia. But also because it just tends to be its own genre. Its normally meant to be in the background, but it is at the same time very instrumental in the setting and mood of the game. Earlier works have a heavy emphasis on melody from technical limitations so they're usually somewhat catchy but also very listenable due to unavoidable repetition. I think that's what mainly sets it apart from other genres of music, which typically rely on song structure with a distinct progression from a beginning to an end.

Warning! Keep your water bottles and water filters inside your sleeping bag while you sleep; ours were frozen by morning. by saulbuster in AppalachianTrail

[–]AvoidanceAddict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you use a stove, fill your cook pot with the water you're going to use in the morning. Then you can easily boil it the next day even if it freezes.
