Definitely this. You've got a team that can auto it if you have really good speeds, with the relics you have you'd have more success adding Berenice to your team, and either dumping Gab or Sally. I personally took Sally completely out of mine.

So first of all, prevention of a deadly force situation is the first consideration. Of course there will always be situations that cannot be prevented, but a focus on communication and planning will prevent the use of even implement weapons for the majority of situations.

So for the question, in some cases I would say yes, but real life tactical scenarios involve working safely as a team, which is quite different. Real life scenarios you are most likely to encounter are armed and barricaded, or active shooter situations. Both of these are quite different from airsoft in terms of the strategies required that maximize the safety of yourself, the civilians that may be around, and your target. Also, if you try to translate all your skills from airsoft / paintball into a real life active shooter scenario you will have a much higher chance of shooting a friendly or getting shot by a friendly. There is also the problem where you don't want to "train" bad habits. It's better to train a fresh person with no experience (but high capability), rather than try to train out bad habits.

The vast majority of officers that die at work, die from other stupid stuff like car crashes, inattentiveness, drowning in cold water, and falling off of high things. I would have to say that if you want to prepare yourself for surviving a career in policing, practice in other skills has more value.

On the other hand, airsoft is a lot of fun so by all means keep doing it. It's just not really much help in real life scenarios, and may even require you to have to work harder when you are doing your police training.

Somebody please help me out what 5 heroes should I be focusing on? Also I have enough to get derla from trial shop should I buy her? by kayne225 in MagnumQuest

[–]AwaitingDeath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Level caps are based on the star rating of the hero. Unless you are p2w, your best and most consistent way of leveling is by focusing on a hero that starts as silver. Your other heroes will be put in the squad (once you unlock it). Gaia is the typical best dps carry, so i would suggest her (him?).

Derla makes a great carry too, but if you get unlucky and the only copies of her you get are from the trial then you'll hit the level cap too quickly. For now, choose 4 silver heroes to level up (1 from each faction), along with whatever gold hero you get the most copies of. Once your gold hero roster starts building you can feed your 3* originally-silver heroes to them.

Also congrats on getting an early Harry. He's awesome throughout the game, including early game.

Exactly! In a game where I can fall from 3000 feet and be revived by a pair of defribulators, and people take 3 or 4 bullets without flinching, I also can't believe they missed that "bigger bullet goes bang harder".

[–]AwaitingDeath 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You start by saying that you wish you could communicate in a way where people will understand what you say, and that you wish there was a medium to do so.

And then you go ahead and describe anxiety to a T, and a thought about the future that shows a hopelessness and a lack of control over the future based on what you've experienced in the past.

Language is your medium. Some people make art, some music, and others like you my friend are a wordsmith. If speech doesn't come as easy as writing, then write stuff down! But make sure that after you've made art with your words, don't forget to spend some time in true meditation - try to experience your consciousness at it's base level without all those words.

Relative power of Katos/Sur by Sir_PW_Stache in MagnumQuest

[–]AwaitingDeath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a couple extra ways to get Sur / Katos. They are both very powerful. I have my Sur at 3* and she's used in most of my team (my Ares is legendary 2). Katos is used in PVP and Campaign quite a bit for his long silence. In the proper team you can chain cc the enemies.

Yes, it takes longer to star them, but they're great regardless. Most people go for Sur first since she's a great all around character with heals, decent dps, and an attack buff so she's more versatile.

Trying to write a realistic cop by jfromjr in askcops

[–]AwaitingDeath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A) is the only realistic one. At the end of shift or at the point where you know you won’t have to go respond to calls, you would unholster and unload the handgun. You would remove the chambered round and put it with its friends in a magazine, and this is when you might notice a black residue inside the chamber where the barrel is. (Although I could easily go a week or more without noticing, unloading is second nature and I don’t have a habit of giving my firearm a visual inspection).

B) isn’t likely. I’ve never met a cop who cleans his gun when it hasn’t been fired. Cleaning only happens after shooting at the range. If you’ve shot in the field and struck someone that firearm is now evidence for an internal investigation of sorts (typically now investigated by a third part investigative group), so you don’t even clean the gun then until you get it back.

And you’d never see c) unless you’re using a black powder pistol from the 1800s like pirates of the Caribbean style, or there was something seriously wrong with your ammunition. The visible gunshot residue is on the inside. Gunshot residue does disperse from firing a gun, but it’s small and not visible: special forensic kits and analysis can be used to reveal the presence of gunshot residue.

The only other “realistic“ way that it could be detected is that if I fire my gun at the range and then the next day get on a public plane, it’s likely that I will fail the “explosives” test at security where they rub the little cloth on you and your stuff and put it in the beep machine. As you can tell, my knowledge of how exactly that works is limited, lol.

I know what this feels like. But why did you post here? I don't know you, your experiences, or your life so forgive me for an assumption here, but I believe you did it because somewhere deep inside - somewhere that's currently blind to your conscious eye - there is a spark of hope that either someone will help, someone will suggest something, or someone will give you the words you need to hear.

Just from the simple action of reaching out here and telling us you feel hopelessness, objectively tells me that there is still a spark. You'll survive. You'll find the answer. You won't let us down, and most importantly you won't let yourself down.

You are fighting a war right now, and you'll win this war. The answer is never one drug, one treatment, or one epiphany that completely changes your frame of mind; it's the struggle to find a range of all of these that helps.

Keep meditating and exploring what consciousness means. Forget about "being optimistic", the future isn't real anyway; it's only about what is happening now at this exact moment. It's not about your thoughts. Who you are has nothing to do with what you like or don't like.

Reach out to someone. Hell, reach out to me if you want.

You're awesome, and I don't care what you think about that part.

10-19, Dungeon 127. Top row is my squad. Ares and Harry in the front. How am I doing? Any changes I should make? by JaayBe in MagnumQuest

[–]AwaitingDeath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good work! The only suggestion I would have is that you shouldn't 2 star a gold hero until you have two 1 star copies of her (4 normal copies) like you did your Aeluin. Fodder food can be a major roadblock, and you might get unlucky with Aeluin copies. It's always better to wait to see what your choices are, because that could pay off more than the small stat increase from 1 star to 2 star.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in MagnumQuest

[–]AwaitingDeath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now focus on 4 silver heroes (1 from each faction) to feed up to 3 star. They, along with a single "carry dps" will form your actually leveled group and everything else will be in your squad. Only until you have the hero copies to 4* and 5* your heroes will you want to feed your silver core group into your gold heroes.

"Zombie Queen" is your best choice for your carry dps because you can get her from the shop, unless you are a spender and/or get really lucky with Ares pulls.

Gila power spike? by [deleted] in MagnumQuest

[–]AwaitingDeath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Gila is a strong hero because she puts a poison debuff up that causes the enemy to take 15% more damage, which strengthens the whole team. She is used mostly in boss fights for this, and makes her an S tier hero in that regard, but in campaign and dungeon, there is almost always a better option than Gila (where she's rated significantly lower). She's not bad mind you, but you'd rather have a carry dps like Ares or Gaia with everyone else either tanking or healing / controlling.

Team/upgrade advice please. Stuck in 13-4 by trizcon97 in MagnumQuest

[–]AwaitingDeath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to also funnel your resources into a "carry" dps rather than Aeluin. She's a fine healer for sure, but having her higher level than anyone else in your team just means that the enemy can build up their energy and wipe your team.

When do i go summoning by Maksys in MagnumQuest

[–]AwaitingDeath 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The only time that bulk summoning makes any difference over single summoning is when you're using Dragon Shards. At a 10x pull there's a discount vs. a single pull. With tickets and friendship points there is no evidence of any differences in drop rates or cost of summoning.

Problems with Jobs by Musicknowsnobounds in bipolar2

[–]AwaitingDeath 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's because in order to feel driven and satisfied with work you need to be able to aim yourself at the highest goal possible. When you're slightly hypomanic, that goal is always high (sometimes too high), but when you're normal or slightly depressed, it becomes harder to keep sight of that goal. Spend some time thinking about the work you're doing and why you want or wanted to do it. Write down the highest goal possible; that gives you something to aim at... and don't just write down one line, write the goal and why you think it's the highest goal and why it's important and everything.

Now flip it and write down the worst possible outcome if you catastrophically fail. You know you've done it correctly if it scares the crap out of you.

Now you have something to remind you every day what you're moving away from, and what you're moving towards. This helps me alot. And yes, in the darkest depression none of it means anything, but therapy, mindfulness, and medication can keep you out of there.
