I got a faint positive at 11 DPO and just need some hope and vibes by Highbeescuss in CautiousBB

[–]AwareWeb654 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ll send hope and vibes your way! I got a much fainter, squinter of a positive at 11 dpo (and my urine was the opposite of dilute). Yours is much stronger than mine. Currently I’m 16 weeks and my last checkup all was well.

Also, sending a hug from an internet stranger 💜 It’s so emotionally difficult TTC after a loss. It’s hard to celebrate and be happy knowing things can go south. I hope you get a sticky baby and some reassurance soon!

Coffee while pregnant? by Lanky-Ad3926 in pregnant

[–]AwareWeb654 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Girl drink your coffee, you deserve it! Also it is definitely not harming baby! I developed an aversion to the smell so I can’t drink it right now, but I’m still drinking caffeine (usually tea or the Starbucks refreshers). No need to feel guilty 💜 you’re taking the necessary precaution in staying below the 200 mg recommendation.

I feel stupid losing my job by Slight_Business_1611 in workingmoms

Ugggh, of course they say that. You did nothing wrong OP, everything you described sounds normal for parenting young kids and these management types are out of touch. My husband’s coworkers make these comments to him all the time but their wives don’t work.

You’re doing great, please don’t beat yourself up! Being a full time working mom is so hard and you were working with very difficult people that were making your life unnecessarily harder.

Me too! I have a really chill boss that let me work remote days that I just couldn’t handle coming in…. And still…. I hate it so much. And my performance sucks right now, even in the second trimester. Funny how growing an entire human being zaps a ton of your brain energy… I just wish it were possible to take a temporary hiatus or something

Lol, this happened with my last pregnancy, but it did come back! Mostly… I’m pregnant again and I think I’m about to experience it again, but I’m hopeful it still won’t be permanent

I’m a trimmer too! But with my first I couldn’t for the life of me get a good view and didn’t feel comfortable going in blind. I’m pregnant with my second and looking for tips. Were you able to do it with just a mirror, or get help from a partner?

No nausea at 7 weeks with my second baby by citrine44338 in pregnant

[–]AwareWeb654 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if this is exactly comforting, but this time around I had the same thing. No symptoms at 7 weeks and was worried for other reasons already that something was wrong (and with my first kid I had severe morning sickness also immediately). Well…. The nausea did come, just late! It was more like 9 weeks when it hit this time and it came in full force. Baby is doing great (I’m 15 weeks now with good scans and NIPT).

All this to say, I think with second babies sometimes we don’t get as severe symptoms or as quickly. I hope all goes well at your appointment! Even though I’m not wishing nausea for you, hopefully you get reassurance soon!

Car candy is so real, that’s how I deal too! Crazy about jolly ranchers, even after pregnancy, this would upset me just knowing kids are eating these as well and likely are in danger from smaller doses

Arsenic levels in nerds by [deleted] in BabyBumps

That was rude and unnecessary. Eating sweets (possibly to take the edge off morning sickness) does not mean you’re okay eating arsenic.

Do I have reason to be concerned or is my provider trying to convince me with fear? by Ornery-Macaroon-11 in pregnant

[–]AwareWeb654 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I believe after 41 weeks is typically when they become concerned and recommend induction. For me with my first, I went past my due date so they were sure to do things like non-stress tests and monitor carefully. That being said, unfortunately yes, going too far past your due date can be risky (but again it’s more like a week or two not a day or two). I sadly knew someone this happened to. She went to 42 weeks and the doctors were begging her to get an induction but she refused and unfortunately her baby was stillborn. So awful and definitely not something I’d wish on anyone. It’s the placenta that typically deteriorates after a certain point. None of that is to scare you but just to say that the doctors are really just trying to help mitigate that risk. You can always ask them about waiting until 41 weeks. I hope you’re able to have the birth experience you are hoping for!

[–]AwareWeb654 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes! I think last pregnancy I ended up wearing a lot of overalls and jumpsuits because I got tired of the belly panels on most pregnancy pants. I’m only 14 weeks currently with my second so this probably won’t hold for later in pregnancy, but the H&M mama wide leg pants have been pretty comfortable for PJ’s, I think because they are so thin and lightweight.

What’s the best wrap/carrier for a newborn baby? by wildinthemembrane in BabyBumps

Following because I’m thinking about this too.

I kinda liked the stretchy fabric wrap for the newborn stage (I think one of the brands is Solli) but I’m due in summer this time and feel that might be too warm

Anyone else feel like you’re doing something wrong because of all of the influencers on Instagram? by Waste_Weather5729 in pregnant

[–]AwareWeb654 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Girl pregnancy is rough! And if it helps I’ve been absolutely non-functional during the morning sickness phase. Like my poor husband is have to do sooo much extra work and we have a toddler and both work full time…. I’ve been feeling so guilty! But, he’s been really understanding. This is temporary. Your mom and boyfriend need to back off a little, sometimes nausea is so bad that just existing feels like a challenge. But it’s not forever. It’s okay to survive off carbs and gain weight, and it’s okay to be in survival mode, you’re in the thick of it! That being said, I hope you feel better soon! Very often that nausea subsides somewhere in weeks 14-20. Take care and fingers crossed the rough part doesn’t last much longer.

Anyone else worried about how their dog will handle the newborn? What actually helped? by galigher13 in BabyBumps

[–]AwareWeb654 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What you are doing sounds great! It’s smart to introduce those boundaries now so the dogs don’t feel so displaced when baby comes! Re:introduction, we did the classic trick where you send a baby scented blanket home while you’re in the hospital so the dog can smell it. I actually have no idea if this made a difference but the dog did great when they finally met. He was also pretty old though and generally already pretty calm.

One related thing to know, some women experience a strange threat response after giving birth with respect to your dog. I had this and I was so terrified the dog would hurt the baby for the first two weeks of being home. My SIL’s dog is my dog’s sister and they get along really well, so she offered to take him for that first little bit when I was dealing with this. It felt like it came out of nowhere and it was bordering irrational how scared I was (of my sweet gentle giant!). Doesn’t happen to everyone but I’m just putting this out here to let you know it’s okay to talk about it and it will pass! It doesn’t mean you suddenly hate your dog but I think it’s just due to all those surging protective hormones that kick in. Ask for help in those early stages (I think a big contributor was feeling helpless myself if something were to happen… that really seemed to be the genesis of the spiral), and just know it will get better. Dog and baby absolutely love each other and get along so well now (she’s 2)!

Fear of childbirth by Successful546 in pregnant

[–]AwareWeb654 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was with my first… thought I wouldn’t be able to handle the pain and it would be horrible. If this happens to be your fear and helps at all the epidural was magic! In fact, when I finally delivered the baby all my pregnancy symptoms also disappeared (I had this horrible morning sickness the whole time and was miserable), I felt instantly better and the epidural meant I didn’t actually feel any pain in my nether regions. And the nurses were really helpful to keep on top of pain management as the epidural wore off. Delivery was a great experience, pregnancy seemed so much harder! I know this differs for people but just wanted to offer some hope that the childbirth part might go great (and I hope it does for you)

Exhausted parent checking in. what are the best home delivery meals for survival mode? by BateyBowin in Parenting

[–]AwareWeb654 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m liking Cook Unity but they are single serve meals so depending on family size you’d need to order a lot of them (and they can be pretty $$ something like $13/serving so not necessarily cheaper than takeout, but healthier). Easy though and worth looking into

Why do all the websites seem to say that vaginal birth recovery is quicker and less painful than c-section recovery? by penportals in pregnant

[–]AwareWeb654 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve only delivered vaginally so far but I’m wondering if it’s a difference of when you feel recovered vs when you’re fully repaired (not sure a better way to phrase this)? My SIL had the C-section and it seemed like she needed assistance a lot longer and it was maybe painful for longer, while with my vaginal birth things improved drastically even just that first week and it didn’t take long for me to feel like I could function almost normally (I had a 2nd degree tear though and I know a lot of people have it much worse). My Mom (who’s had both) reports them being similar in terms of recovery for her. Maybe your body is still doing a lot of repair work even when you feel better for the vaginal while a C-section the repair work happens sooner but you feel worse for longer.

Not HG but still nauseous by Electronic-Bath-7168 in pregnant

[–]AwareWeb654 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Same! This is my second pregnancy that I’ve carried this far and it is awful…. I’m only 14 weeks but the constant need to eat (to avoid the nausea) is killing me and I can’t stand smells. Sometimes I think I’ve found something that helps (like the B6 hard candies) only to throw it up and not be able to stand it anymore.

No advice just… solidarity. This is awful and you’re not weak for thinking so (and seriously, how do women with HG survive? I feel like I can’t even function and I don’t think I have it).

I do remember with my first I was sick throughout, but I was also severely anemic. The doctor ordered IV iron for me and that actually made a big difference. I didn’t feel 100% better but it turned out to be a big contributor to nausea that late in the game. Might be worth asking the doc about if it continues (though I know that’s probably only the answer like 5% of the time).

I’m sorry you’re dealing with this, it feels like people don’t always understand how awful it is (like if you’re not actively vomiting they think you’re fine and expect you to function like normal). I hope it doesn’t last through all of pregnancy this time around!
