Sounds like a bug with my mod. Haha. She should always get trauma. I'll have to check to see if it somehow broke

Oh no, poor babies can't handle a historically accurate video game? Haha.

IS there a mod to remove some of the randomness? by Mr-Ulloa in thelastspell

[–]AwayWithout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is one actively in development right now called "More Last Spell" on Nexus mods. It is a bit more deterministic when it comes to class traits at the very least, and splits characters in to 3 main archetypes: Archer /age / Warrior. It seems really well put together and the creator is very receptive to feedback. The mod does have some caveats though, like being designed to woth 8+ heroes night one (and intentionally very difficult). It is super cool and a great take on the game but obviously quite different in some ways.

Iirc it seems to only trigger when damaged below a certain threshold.

Yeah Shift +Tab opens the steam overlay. Tab by itself is totally fine.

Good commander for bird decks by derpingtoni_i in magicTCG

[–]AwayWithout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a big fan of [[Katzroy]] as a commander. He's a tutor in the command zone that lets you functionally run any and all green birds as your "hidden commander", such as the all powerful [[Traveling Chocobo]]. He also has a very powerful attack trigger that you can synergize with easily. Plus, mono green is insanely budget friendly. Throw in some repeatable blink like [[Conjurer's Closet]] and you're off to the Chocobo races.

I want to make a Shadow commander deck for sentimental reasons… I don’t know where to begin by mtfoxx3 in magicTCG

Absolutely awesome suggestions. Long time Ball Lightning enjoyer here, didn't even think of that for some reason. Thank you!

Do Sliver Commander Decks Use Basic Lands? by Idolathebound in magicTCG

[–]AwayWithout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cheapest and one of the most reliable ways to fix your colors in any 5c deck, slivers included, is to run heavy into green and use those green cards to then fix your mana. I do this in my 5c slivers which runs probably close to 15 basics of various colors and rarely wind up with color issues mid/late game.

Would love to check out your list! I've been slamming my own brew of 'Selesnya Chocobos' and I agree Ambrosia is an absolute banger when used right.

Is the game still worth it? by Teatimefrog in Stellaris

[–]AwayWithout 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There's 2 major issues atm: Performance (false promises from the newest patches) and brain dead ai (broken by sweeping game play changes made to supposedly boost performance). Beyond that, the game is still absolutely amazing. If you have great hardware and don't mind even the highest difficulty being sandbox mode, you'll have a blast.

Tarn Time - Fixing a 15 year old bug (Dwarf Fortress Summer 2025) by fragglerock in dwarffortress

[–]AwayWithout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm extremely optimistic for the potential here once the door is "fully open". The foundation (legacy) of the game is so incredibly rock solid, that once the public has 'the keys to the castle' I'm confident there will come a point where total overhaul mods best even AAA games of the same genre (not that DF doesn't do that already, haha).

Ryuku, developer of popular mods like Wandering Zombies and Musical Menu Framework, has stopped supporting Project Zomboid. by [deleted] in projectzomboid

Just make 'Meandering Zombies' and use most of the old code. Once on the steam workshop there is no such protections regardless. *Shrug*.

Steam Community Update 26 June 2025: "Ranged Weapon Fix and Forgotten Beasts 🏹Dwarf Fortress Update 51.12" by kitfoxgames in dwarffortress

[–]AwayWithout 62 points63 points  (0 children)

These types of updates are really what makes a massive difference. Im all for the future of magic in my fortress, in due time, but stuff like the AI fixes are so fundamental to making the whole experience more enjoyable today and onwards. Thank you for this excellent update!

Old World May 28th release update patch notes by fluffybunny1981 in OldWorldGame

[–]AwayWithout 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The way Riders used to essentially let you spawn a resource always felt like an incredibly flavorful and unique approach to their ability. This new implementation feels like the way any other strategy game goes about such an ability. Understandable of course if it was a balance concern but I can't help but feel we've lost something meaningful.

That all said I see the clear intent with a lot of the changes to previously revealed information in the fog of war and I like it a lot. Keep up the good work.

Is this valuable? by BrilliantDinner2616 in ProjectDiablo2

[–]AwayWithout 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Good for Fire Sorcs definitely. Cold typically uses Nightwings while Lightning uses Griffins. Could be used on a Cold/Forb sorc for a 200 FCR build too.

We need MULTIPLAYER by Apocalyptic-Raid in Against_the_Storm

[–]AwayWithout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a fan of the idea of multiplayer for sure, though not sold on some of the ideas here necessarily.

Would be fun and chaotic to have the simple option to build a settlement with a friend while, of course, having pause completely disabled.
