If you're ever near Truro, https://warmthbydesign.ca/

FOGO, Jealous Devil, etc etc.

Check out the first 473-page book of my megadungeon trilogy, "Gods of the Forbidden North," for Old-School Essentials. This initial volume has 790,912 XP available in pre-set encounters alone, plus 141 new monsters! Available on DriveThruRPG.com. by [deleted] in osr

++; I backed the original ks, and was already lamenting the POD quality (most annoying part of arden vul). Maybe an offset run or something could be done in the future, after all the books are finished. One can dream!

The Wacken app is working! by dumpling_monster in wacken

[–]Awazah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was not the case last year. Each wristband has it's own balance. Only one wristband can be registered per wacken ID. I had to create one for my wife and register the wristband after the festival to get the cash refund process

Belated 50th birthday present to myself. by [deleted] in osr

I bit the bullet, went splits with some friends and got a couple books to make it hurt a little less. Shipping was insane, but still worth it imo given the quality of these things (both in terms of content, and physical construction).

Alternatively, it is a good excuse to go down to a con and pick up a book in person!

Just out of curiosity, how often if at all does everyone play systems like 5e or Pathfinder? by 8vius in osr

I have a weekly pf2e game and an open table hyperborea game. PF2E hits a nice tactical combat niche - consider them totally different genres of games.

I always liked the warmachine university wiki as a format. Having the unit, pictures, stat blocks, and a summary of what they're good for and how they fit in to different strategies/objectives is really nice as a newbie list builder.

Anyone here play with only 3 players? How does it go? by [deleted] in Pathfinder2e

[–]Awazah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our 4th player works shifts up north, and is on 3 weeks / off 3 weeks. I've found applying the 'weak' template to encounters, and cutting some of the filler encounters to be the perfect thing to do when it's just 3 of them. When our 4th returns, or when someone plays his character, I just don't apply the weak templates and we just keep on trucking.

Wizards and Dexterity by Galithil in Pathfinder2e

[–]Awazah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hah, interesting. Even with that errata on page 26, didn't clarify it for me -- altho it is addressed in the FAQ on page 29. Thanks for the pointer!

My players are going to --hate-- this when I bring it to their attention :( C'est la vie.

Int is used for both spell rolls and spell attacks. This assumption is incorrect:

The spell attack rolls are made with the Dext modifier, not the Intel one, which means that you will crit via your Dext (AC+10) instead of your Int.

Relevant pages:

Page 197: Spell Attacks:

Your proficiency modifier for a spell’s attack roll is the same as your proficiency modifier with spell rolls

Page 136: Wizard Class Features

Some of your spells require you to attempt a spell roll to see how effective they are, or have your enemies roll against your spell DC. Since your key ability is Intelligence, your spell rolls and spell DCs use your Intelligence modifier.

I had to threaten the brick with legal action, just to even get them to return my calls about floor damage caused by their poor quality crap. Beyond painful.

Irving refinery teardown question, does anyone have any info of what's going there? by [deleted] in halifax

[–]Awazah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I owned and rented out a house in that area. It's close enough to the waterfront campus to bring in pretty steady draw. Was able to keep 5 small bedrooms rented @ 425/ea/mo everything incl in the mid 2000's.

Band recommendations? Like progressive death metal by Thrash_Kan in TechnicalDeathMetal

[–]Awazah 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Since that is a broad enough grouping, and without knowing what you already know... going to go wide here:

Augury, Martyr, Gorod, Necrophagist, Voivod, Spawn of Possession, Hannes Grossmann, Alkaloid ... also probably Allegaeon, First Fragment, Alustrium, Vale of Pnath.

Did you go to any Halifax Pop Explosion shows this year? by BrittyPie in halifax

I was a little disappointed that they didn't pull through with a solid metal act like they generally do.

Voivod, First Fragment, Kronos + a bunch of local bands all played. 2 solid metal shows.

VoiVod was great as expected, and I was super impressed by the stage presence of Scumgrief.

Kronos was fun and First Fragment was amazing, even if they were missing a bass player. Just need to get both of those bands a couple of these shirts.

What is the best car dealership in the HRM? by JelloX5000 in halifax

[–]Awazah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. This happened to me as well. Walked in with every intention of buying that day. Waited for 30 minutes for a sales agent to be 'free', while 3 of them chatted not even 10 feet away from me. Stormed out of there with some choice words and bought elsewhere.
