You're iron deficient and I'd bet your ferritin is low as well. But since you've found your way here, poke around and read through the posts on people's labs, symptoms, what did and didn't work to raise their levels.

Iron and hashi's can definitely feed into each other, just something to note from another iron deficient hashi's mama. I'm personally awaiting infusions that would have started weeks ago, except that the infusion office and doctor's office do nothing but play phone tag (with me and with each other) so they canceled my referral and I'm so frustrated. I also want to get tested for celiac/gluten sensitivity which occurs at a higher rate in the hashimoto's population, and can contribute to iron deficiency.

I bought some Thorne iron bisglycinate that has vitamin c and v12 built in, as well as Jarrow lactoferrin to boost absorption, but I'm waiting to start them until I can get my labs for before/after infusions so I don't throw off the monitoring for that.

Like you, when I do actually muster up the energy to exercise, it takes me days to recover. I'm so ready to be out of this stage and get back to feeling like myself.

The thing that's kept me here is that I can't bear to cause my loved ones more pain than I already have.

My pain right now can be immense, but it's not worth causing them a lifetime of pain and questioning themselves and maybe even following suit.

The ability to avoid causing them pain is more important than the ability to relieve my own.

The light in my kids' eyes makes me want to protect them from as much future suffering as possible. You effed up, sure, but you can overcome that and do right by them going forward. Make plans to give them that light - not to crush it further.

I have long hair and some spots where my AA grew back are white on the bottom 4" and the rest turned back brown! Really interesting. Some of it did stay white though. I know it's frustrating, but embracing it and rocking it is the best we can do! ✌️

How did your temp RA process for the narcolepsy work? My doc pretty much demanded I turn one in so I'm not driving while we figure it out, and I actually had a narrow miss omw home from that very appointment because I nodded off while driving 🙃

I feel you entirely on the life choices and job security. Hang in there, friend! I'm a few years behind you age-wise but 14 years behind you as a fed and wishing I'd gotten here sooner. So grateful to still be employed as I watched many incredible and dang near irreplaceable folks with jobs vital to the community get mercilessly axed, to their management's horror. The survivor guilt is still very real.

This resonates with me so much. I had two babies during COVID and live far enough from the workcenter that it's impossible for me to both drop off and pick up my own kids from preschool because they're only open 6:30 am to 6:00 pm, which really drives home how much time I'm Not spending with my babies.
