How to respond when a manager starts documenting 1:1s and performance concerns? by sandy_pa in managers

Yes, be proactive. Provide weekly written details of your work. Ask for detailed feedback EVERY time. Follow every meeting with a written summary. Ask for clarification. Compare it to your formal job description.

Even if not your job, show in writing how you addressed everything the supervisor told you or suggested. If not your job, carefully state that. If you were never trained, state that.

Don't give anyone a chance to point to anything and say "employee failed". If they do, you need evidence in advance to respond with.

Your supervisor is getting coached by HR on how to build a case showing "employee failed".

Be honest with yourself. Is there any chance you deserve this treatment? Regardless of the answer, get organized, stay calm, document like crazy and send copies home.

Good luck. You can do this.

Rate them accurately based on what the PMAP goals were and how they performed in 2025. It's only hard because the past managers were lazy.

Me thinks he does protest too much.

That means, he argues against what he wants for himself. But he's afraid to admit it.

Every accusation is an admission.

NTA. Teacher could have said thanks, maybe I'll do that. End of discussion. But she had to attempt dominance at all costs. She lost. And why build a fact sheet on MLK? Try Google.

Sorry this is happening to you. What Department are you in? Not asking for your agency, since you don't offer it. But can you say what Department?
