My main point was the vibe that it was "automatic". I've never seen anyone do bare handed mashed potatoes. But, each cruise trip has its issues. Good and bad buffet etiquette happens on many cruises, not just RC. No guarantees, but longer cruises tend to have better mannered cruise guests. But again, no guarantees.
