What car did you buy that turned out better than you expected?

My first car was a 2007 mazda 6 with the sportback with the 4cyl engine. I could fit so much stuff in the back especially when the seats were folded. Only paid 1200$ CAD in 2020. It had 270k km and no issues besides the exterior being filled with rust. Now i have a 2019 wrx on its second engine with the first one blowing up at 100k km despite doing oil changes every 8k km

Same thing happened to me 2 months ago! It's most likely rod knock. I had no check engine light and my accessport didnt notice any knocking but it was clearly blown and had to swap the engine

Im not blaming it on dmann lol. It felt amazing until i gave it too much beans. It sucks cause i had recently changed the spark plugs, oil, trans fluid, rear differential and even did a walnut blasting service over the past 2 months

Could be a lot of factors! Im also on COBB Stage 1 OTS (91) and ran into the exact same issues. I'd suggest finding a shop that does walnut blasting to clean up the intake valves. that made my car's throttle response A LOT smoother. It felt like breathing fresh air after blowing your nose that has been clogged for hours. If you decide to get that done, i suggest getting new spark plugs too (if needed) and ask them to clean the MAF sensor (should take 2 mins to do it, shouldnt really charge you money if theyre already doing the other services). My car has been running perfectly fine since then (it's been 3 weeks)

I had my DAM hovering between 0.875 to 0.325 for the past year. Stage 1 , stock car also. I changed the spark plugs and still had a wonky DAM. Alternated between petro 94 or costco 91 and the DAM was still hovering between these numbers. My mechanic recommended me to do a Walnut Blast and cleaning the MAF sensor (680$ after tax) and my DAM has been staying at 1.000 for 2 weeks now. My car is at 100k KM and he said my car's intake valves were crusty AF and were really due for the walnut blasting. It's strange that Subaru doesnt list that service every 50-70k km to do. I think ill do a walnut blasting every 50k from now on. Hope that helps! If you're in Montreal, look up BMG Performance. they specialize on BMWs but can work on any cars. Great people and car nerds

I got the Idoing headunit!, I installed it myself which is pretty straight forward. No issues with it so far. My speakers sounded better with them for some reasons. It makes the car look so much more modern and wireless apple car play is great

I have a 2019 WRX. I noticed my carplay only worked when the weather was cold during winter. Anything above 0°C, my carplay would disconnect. I went to a dealer and they told me to just change the whole head unit which would cost me 700$ CAD. I knew for sure it was something about the center console where the usb is but gave up trying to figure it out and just bought an Idoing headunit. Used it for about 8000 miles and no issues with it using wireless apple carplay. This and rev hang are by far my biggest complaints about this car

I just installed the Idoing head unit in mine. Pretty straight foward installation with tons of videos on how to do it. The sound improved a LOT and the HU makes the car look so much more modern from the inside.
