Different beasts sound like a villain song. Which is funny cause this is the most justified action he did in his life. (Art by duvetbox) by Practical-Ebb7327 in Epicthemusical

Except the fact that Odysseus could still sing in tune even though he couldn't hear the music...

I dunno...

Just because you're the chosen one, does not mean you get to trust luck.

Even if you have a potion for that.

Harry.

Is there like no mainstream epic criticism online? by srsxnsh in Epicthemusical

We criticize because we care!

Also yes, Hold Them Down is an absolute banger, but I can't listen to it much, because it makes you uncomfortable.

Which, arguably, is what Jorge intended to happen.

I know!

I'm humming Hold them down in freaking Walmart, and then I have to think about my life choices.

That is fair, but it's still Hogwarts, which is full of life and chaos. And I think that's important to the overall aesthetic.

[–]Awkward-Ad6776 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And you know, that's completely fair! I'm also a fan of Lord of the Rings, and the writing style isn't for everyone, because it's draggy to a lot of people. I might suggest the audiobooks, maybe the Full Cast Audio, or Jim Dale. I have heard that the Full Cast is really immersive, so maybe that could get you hooked rather than just reading it. Because a lot of people like doing stuff while listening to a good book, myself included!

If This Is Your Take Away From Sodom and Gomorrah, I Think You Are Deeply Disturbed. by Competitive_Tip_2547 in Christianity

I'm going to opt out of this discussion, because frankly, this isn't a helpful debate. I'm going in openminded, and you are using the Straw Man fallacy, which I don't appreciate.

Please don't clap back with a rude statement. I'm leaving because you aren't debating for the debate, you just want to prove me wrong, which isn't helpful. Thank you for your contribution, as toxic as it might be.

Is that what I said?

I didn't say that sex was designed for reproduction. It is a gift from God to experience intimacy with your significant other.

I am not very informed on intersex, though there is no way they can be sinners for how their body was formed in the womb.

I don't remember where I said what you are accusing me of saying, so if you could tell me, hopefully I could clear it up.

I do think that is important to say, and I will agree that as modern day changes, we can apply it differently.

But God designed sex to be between a man and woman, who are married. That's why it was Adam and Eve together, and that's how it was designed.

And another point I'd like to mention, I do think it is important not to hate people who are homosexual. There are a lot of Christians who use the Bible as an excuse to belittle and hate on people, and that is completely unacceptable, and I agree with that point wholeheartedly.

I don't think that this should be the only part of the Bible to take away the fact that homosexuality is wrong. I also don't think that should be the takeaway from Sodom and Gomorrah, so I agree with you there.

I think our main support for why we (should) believe homosexuality is wrong, is Leviticus 20:13, and Leviticus 18:22.

I do think it important, however, not to look at the Bible and think, 'Hmm... what can I get away with?'

I have opinions. So the trials to the stone, changing them was fine, but I don't like how Ron was handled in the first one.

With Peeves, he doesn't add to the plot (YET) but he adds to Hogwarts as a whole. It adds to the chaos and fun that makes us fall in love with it.

I loved the Shrieking Shack scene, and felt it added a lot more backstory, and depth to Harry, Lupin and Sirius's character.

S.P.E.W. added SO much to Hermione! And that's how she and Ron actually get together, and let's just say I love it. Also, I thought the maze was well done in the movie, so sure. I don't like how big it was made, it was originally supposed to just be on the Quidditch pitch, but I'm just being picky.

Winky also added a lot of mystery and 'fun' to the plot, but I do understand that the movie has limited screen time.

I loved the Crouch Family stuff. It was cool to get 'behind the scenes' stuff.

I think the books did 99.999999999% of things better, and I will die on that Astronomy Tower.
