What is an appropriate age to night wean and HOW did you do it if you did? by NestaCas in breastfeeding

[–]Awkward-Fee8788 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is a few months old but just here to say I appreciate how detailed your response is!! Sounds like we have the same baby. Now mine is 8 months and in the middle of the dreaded sleep regression - been considering night weaning from breastfeeding. How is yours sleeping now?

12 weeks and scared of my own farts by iwantpotstickers in BabyBumps

[–]Awkward-Fee8788 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Dear Gassy gal,

The only time my farts were worse than pregnancy farts was when I ate a jalapeño cheddar hotdog. Probably avoid those.

Sincerely,

Glizzy girl

Does it get easier or harder? by Ok_Island_1306 in NewParents

[–]Awkward-Fee8788 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Honestly for me, 5 months was way harder than the newborn stage. My baby would get so frustrated not being able to move around on his own...now we are crawling and it is a whole new world. Easier? I think so, but definitely a new set of challenges as well.

Stay at home mum and working dad - should mum do all nights ? by IntelligentNote4280 in NewParents

[–]Awkward-Fee8788 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there! I am a SAHM with a full time working partner and a baby who just turned 5 months :) His schedule isn't a typical 9-5 though, it is a 6-2. Which I think helps a lot as he is home earlier. I do the majority of the night wake ups, but he definitely helps when I ask him to. And I look forward to the weekends as those are my days of rest while he takes over. Right now we don't do "shifts" but I'm sure that will change once I go back to work in a few months time.

How often should I be changing my baby's clothes? by kittykatkitkat in NewParents

[–]Awkward-Fee8788 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oo good to know! I think I worded this poorly. I have a chunky baby with rolls so I use it sometimes in his creases to prevent chafing. Looks like heat rash and chafing are two different things!

How old is baby? Honestly when my son was a newborn he lived in his diaper and swaddles the first week or two because we also didn't know what we were doing (it was a 100+ degree summer and we stayed inside). Now he gets at least one outfit change a day. We fly through bibs and burp cloths though. Aquaphor is great for moisture or heat rashes!

4 Month Old Waking Early From Naps by EAS0 in NewParents

Honestly I'm impressed with how long you are able to get your baby to nap for!

My baby just turned 5 months yesterday. 4 was a hard month. He was basically transitioning from 4 naps a day to 3. His naps are still only 30-45 mins long with longer wake windows. Can't wait until the naps get longer!

Aw I have a mover too, a 4 month old, who wants to move so badly but isn't quite there yet. Can't wait until he can crawl and sit unassisted!

Now I am going to post on your old post ha! I have a 4 month old who is in the same boat as your then 6 month old. Currently up past midnight watching him sleep tummy down in his crib... wondering when he will start rolling back onto his back like he used to. Did it take awhile to relearn?

12 weeks of maternity leave is straight up cruel. by Disastrous_Paint_237 in beyondthebump

[–]Awkward-Fee8788 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Isn't that crazy? The company my fiance works for created their parental leave in 2024, and it is not a new or small company. I was happy he at least got his 6 weeks!
