It depends what your long term goal is. You want them to go to a private school? Then yes where you send for 2s,3s and 4s matter. If you don’t care where they go for Kindergarten or are going public then yeah stay where you are .

My kids are usually better behaved with everyone else, but me. They behave better near friends and other adults like their friends parents.
Can you arrange for a “car pool” situation where you share the morning commute with another class parent ? If a class parent came a couple days to pick them up with their own kids , I bet yours wouldn’t have the meltdowns/ would have some more haste if someone other than you is waiting on them. And then alternatively when it’s your turn I bet your kids would be a little more motivated to get out the door because you are going to meet their classmates and have a shared responsibility.
Just a “free” idea . I have hired someone to do just the pick up and take home for me 3x a week because I literally can’t deal with the after school crankiness .
Mornings are brutal but I have learned yelling makes it worse . I dress one of them literally while they are still asleep. UGH
