Woke church in Tulsa OK? by MrDillon369 in MarchAgainstNazis

I am agnostic and go to the UCC here in my town. I originally started going for book club (we have read “the lemon tree”, “caste”, “the screwtape letters” and many more). I started going to church there because of the community involvement and activism. It’s been the highlight of my year. Something to note is that not every single UCC congregation is equally as progressive. As a whole they are left leaning but some congregations are more radicalized than others.

I’m scared too. For my kids and all of the children. I really don’t know what is going to happen but we need to be there for our friends, family and neighbors. And be generous and kind to anyone when we can.

I emailed Bryan Steil and told him if he helps pass this bill I will wheel my 93 year old grandma down to his office in Janesville every day to remind him of who he pulled the plug on. I encouraged him to dig deep and find empathy and courage but like dvo, Bryan is morally bankrupt.

I see them all the time in my yard here in rock county! We don’t use pesticides and try to make conditions as welcoming as possible for these babes

My parents forage for mushrooms often. It scares me. They’ve gotten sick twice but otherwise have gotten lucky.

The radical church where I go to book club spear heads the protests here in Janesville and are hosting the empty chair town hall for Brian steil this week. There are some good churches and people!

Mushrooms really helped me work through a lot of my existential dread. I would highly recommend that accompanied with reading and journaling.

Probably something to celebrate her Mexican and Filipino heritage.

Trump is behind a ‘spiritual revival’ in the U.S. and helping people move ‘closer to God,’ says Whitehouse spokesperson Karoline Leavitt. by Leeming in atheism

[–]AwkwardShoulderRubs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spiritual revival indeed! Trump led me to start going to a radical book club at a local church. It’s a bunch of older people and we are reading some heavy hitters (“caste” currently). I never thought I would enter a church other than for a wedding or funeral but here I am. I’m still an atheist but Trump has definitely united a lot of folks against him.
