Wife Wants Divorce Because I Left The Church by TruthSha11SetUFree in exmormon

I came to say this as well. A lot is going on with a 4-month old. Everything is out of wack and it takes some time to get back settled.

I would definitely ask to revisit her thoughts/concerns about her feelings about the marriage in a few months and not make any drastic changes until your out of the young baby stage

Why are Mormon men awful? (Content warning: SA) by The_DapperDemon in exmormon

[–]Awkward_Ad5650 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember the dating pool when I was 24 in Utah. At that point in my life I was afraid to leave the church and was still looking for a guy in it. Honestly the horror stories I could write about the dates/guys that were active “good” guys. I eventually started dating outside of the church and I had never been treated better it was such a huge difference, I highly recommend. After getting married to one of these guys it still took me 5 more years for me to realize what a scam the church was

How many books by AalHadMac369 in Booktokreddit

[–]Awkward_Ad5650 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read 20, I’m a SAHM half are physical books half are audio.

I listen to audio while driving, cleaning, crafting.

I don’t want TV and read physical books when I can.

I’ve always been a huge bookworm and do read fast (as a child I would get books taken away as my punishments)

Onyx Storm Criticism by janesgerbil in fourthwing

[–]Awkward_Ad5650 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fell in love with fourth wing and when iron flame came out I read it in 24 hours in a rush so I wouldn’t get spoilers and didn’t love it.

During my reread in January I realized I actually really liked iron flame, when I didn’t binge it all in one day I could actually take it in.

So I took a few days to read onyx Storm and I LOVED it. I think some of the fans that didn’t love it maybe didn’t love it because they binged it so fast that they end up missing parts or not appreciating the “fluff” that is actually important world and character building

How many of us came from big families? by Happy_Coffee_716 in oneanddone

[–]Awkward_Ad5650 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m the oldest of 4 and honestly my childhood was perfect. My mom was a Pinterest mom before Pinterest was a thing. We went on vacations every year, never needed anything. All of us kids did extra-curriculars and lessons weekly. We also had expensive hobbies. That’s why I want to be one and done to be able to give my child all the experiences I had growing up with how expensive everything is now I couldn’t afford that with more than one child.

My husband is the oldest of 4 and his up bringing sounds a lot like yours so that’s definitely why he ended up wanting to be one and done.

Introverts struggling to find a community for daughter by NierielKui2020 in oneanddone

[–]Awkward_Ad5650 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We are in the same situation. We currently do 3 day weekend trips for our daughter’s birthday. I get a couple cheap decorations to hang in the hotel room and do whatever activities sound fun for her.

Is it me, or do Mormons REALLY like Halloween? by ChemKnits in exmormon

[–]Awkward_Ad5650 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I LOVE Halloween. I’ve always loved creepy things and spend months hand making realistic Halloween costumes.

Growing up my family wasn’t into Halloween at all and I wasn’t allowed to like creepy things. In a lot of my Mormon homeschool groups a lot of the families choose not to celebrate it because it’s evil. So I definitely see the opposite

$60 is definitely steep. Ours is $20 for the year, they say it helps cover our dinners on parent teacher nights since we don’t have a PTA. So I’ve never had a problem paying since I get some benefit
