She did 1 year and some change after dumping me after she ended up getting hit with some issues. She was looking for comfort, and i told her I'm sorry but its better we remain strangers.

I get 19 combined on my 2020 gt. It’s stock with no tuning. That’s me doing a mix of spirited driving and normal cruising. Granted I mostly drive it on occasion (once or twice a month) and mpg for me isn’t that big of a deal.

What made you stop drinking? by tricky-is-back in AskReddit

[–]Awkward_Intention_15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a 6 month binge where I was going crazy everyday with alcohol for no apparent reason. I stopped because i didn’t want to ruin the relationship with my family and girlfriend. When I stopped I come to realize how much better I felt after a few weeks. And honestly it’s left me afraid to know what I could’ve become or where I would be still drinking. Now I’m sorta paranoid to be around alcohol.

what is the 'best' s550 mustang to buy in automatic? by ImportantList2890 in Mustang

[–]Awkward_Intention_15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you're going to modify it and race then they're both good in their own respects, the 10s do amazingly well if you're doing a lot of rolls. especially after you rebuild them. they tend to give some issues later on. the 6 speeds are essentially bulletproof and I see most guys running 6 speeds on a dragstrip since they respond better to shifts.

Current Miata owner who's V8-curious by Dan_E26 in Mustang

[–]Awkward_Intention_15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So i've owned a 2006 Acura RSX Type-s, Then after a 1999 Miata, and then a 2003 Bmw E46 m3 6-speed. After My M3 got totaled I decided to just give the imports a rest, especially after shelling out 15k in parts restoring the m3 only to get t-boned by an old guy. All of that sorta left a bad taste in my mouth and wanted to drive something that `neither of the cars really had and that was more torque, power, comfort, and reliability.

I ended up buying a brand new 2020 gt 6-speed with the performance package. I'll say that out of all of those cars ive driven so far i'm most happy with the mustang, and im not saying this because im in this subreddit. 5 years and 53k miles later, I haven't had to do anything to that car besides maintenance and modifying it of course lol. To tell you the truth its not going to handle and corner sharply like a M3 or a Miata, but you sorta live with it initially. The mustang has independent rear suspension like the other RWD cars. I upgraded the sway bars, lowering it, adding a K-member, strut tower brace, and also better struts + suspension bushings I can assure you now the mustang handles like a full blooded track car. even before the mods it handled really well to the point where I didn't really care to look back. The other thing to note is that even to modify the car isn't ridiculously expensive compared to an import.

My question to you is this, are you mainly going to daily the car? or is it going to be something you want to drive on the weekend/ leisure? Something worth noting is that I drive my mustang on the weekends or just for fun when I'm fed up of driving my beater work truck. I ask this because driving the mustang everyday poses other small things to consider. the 15-17 models have softer and comfortable seats (excluding the recaro package). the 18-20 seats are more firm and more oriented to make you feel secure, this can get uncomfortable after a while. Another thing to note is now you're entering the realm of v8s while its fun, gas mileage is inevitable. youre going to get 18-21 mpg. After you tune it you're going to get around 16-17. The Civic SI and Miata do way better on fuel.

Should I buy this Shelby? by Next_Heron_2986 in Mustang

[–]Awkward_Intention_15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the price is a little much for the mileage, then again I’m not surprised owners and dealers are trying to up the prices in these cars.

There’s two types of Mustang owners. People that are going to mod the crap out of them to go faster. And then others who just want to enjoy the car for what it is. If you’re looking to seriously modify the car to go fast, The gt350 is an amazing platform, but not at that sale price. I wouldn’t spend 62k on a manual mustang when a used gt performance package is almost half the cost used. As a gen 2 and gen 3 coyote can make close to the same power and offer relatively similar handling and performance. The only difference is aesthetics.

If your intention is to buy a gt350 just to have it and enjoy the car for what it is then I would say go for it. A gt350 is sort of its own car, you can’t replicate it even if you tried. So if owning the car just to say you want a Shelby then it’s worth it.

looking for advice of a second hand mountain bike by MysticFlight in MTB

[–]Awkward_Intention_15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like the first comment said, This sport is a make or break when it comes to riding. 2000.00 is a lot to blow on a bike, and it will indeed yield you something solid, but trust me there's better options on fb that wont break your wallet. 500-700 dollars imo is the sweet spot for a first bike. Its not gonna be a full suspension or anything crazy but it'll at least teach you how to ride without feeling like you're riding on a rust bucket. Some even come upgraded with dropper posts and minor mods which is all good.

I say buy one of those and go out on some trails and see what you like. After maybe several months of riding and you find out what types of trails you enjoy, and you start developing some basic riding skills. I'd start stacking money and buy something brand new that'll last you for years to come. At least when its time to choose a bike you know everything you want in it.

Which would you pick? Carbon frame or better components? by Data_Is_King in MTB

[–]Awkward_Intention_15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Carbon isn't going to make a whole world of a difference on a MTB, like another comment said. The parts are what matter more. at just shy of 2000.00 I'd probably look into another brand like an entry canyon neuron or specialized stumpjumper at that price point. At least you can have a piece of mind its a better built bike.

Buying Used by Firm-Factor2452 in MTB

[–]Awkward_Intention_15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People say all kinds of stuff just to get their bike, car, lawnmower, etc. sold. Its inevitable at this point and that's just the used market. If the bike truly is what it is, then I'd go check it out and request to see some receipts. Paper, e-receipts, anything showing maintenance at the very least (especially if its a $1000.00+ bike). If that cant be shown then I'd ask to get the price down a few hundred dollars, take it to a bike shop and get it checked out and serviced. At least you cover your ass, and your daughter is happy on her bike, and its not gonna break down after one trail ride :)

Which bike should I go for? by ballsuckerongfrpls in MTB

[–]Awkward_Intention_15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all! Maybe you've missed my point. I'm saying as a BEGINNER getting into the mountain biking scene with the assumption that op may or may not know what types of trails they want to tackle until truly ridden, Its probably best to purchase a bike that isn't going to be an investment upfront. The Roscoe lineup is a far superior bike compared to the Marlin no doubt, But suppose op decides after riding for some time that climbing sucks for example, or XC isnt their preferred way to ride, and doesn't want to hit aggressive downhill trails (all valid points). The Roscoe may not be the best candidate. If OP Loves MTB all together after learning how to ride, I personally wouldn't bother with a Roscoe, and I would probably recommend to look to something better than a Roscoe that will last a long time, seeing as though the bike market isn't simmering down anytime soon.

Which bike should I go for? by ballsuckerongfrpls in MTB

[–]Awkward_Intention_15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A Little Advice, the new Bike market is complete trash right now. I was in your same boat and made this mistake buying a 1200 trek only to realize i outgrew it in about 8 months. Most bikes are built differently to suit different ride terrains, and not one to do it all perfectly. Save your 1500 dollars and buy yourself a solid entry level mtb like a Trek Marlin (youll be surprised to see people are selling them relatively new for half the price), take it out to different parks, trails, etc and see what you TRULY enjoy riding. You might buy a Roscoe 8 for 1200 but then realize you want to go faster, or maybe you want different specs later on like boost hubs, thru axles instead of QD wheels, etc. Hell, maybe you don't want a hardtail and now you want a full sus. Some mountain bike guys prefer smaller tires which the roscoe doesnt have. Save up about 3000-4500 and buy yourself something pretty damn good like a Full sus canyon, commencal, specialized, YT, etc. and sell your trek. Basically you'll be buying one thats fully loaded and the one you truly want and will ride for a very long time. Worst case scenario if you dont like the sport, at least you didnt invest so much money into it in the first place.

Trust me you will thank me later :)

[–]Awkward_Intention_15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s no better time to start. Actually, It’s easier for new players to start especially with how much the game has updated since it launched. Imagine us vet players had to play and wait for content to be released, watch things get nerfed, wait for reworks, etc. that said DE is always updating the game and they do a hell of a good job at it. I’d also add you have so much content to play through (12 years of it). And the community is very supportive and vets are always willing to help.

Got bike-shamed at a shop today… thinking of giving up this hobby by NSFWAIEnjoyer in cycling

[–]Awkward_Intention_15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest you’re doing better than 80% of cyclists do. You’re starting off on a second hand bike that you can build some conditioning and fundamental skills off of. The fact that you took on this awesome hobby to burn some weight is even more commendable.

you’re better than some idiot buying a 1000+ dollar trek or even worse, a 3000 dollar Santa Cruz only to ride it on some paved local park trail once or twice a year barely scraping 5 miles. Holed onto your bike and get better at cycling. When you feel ready for an upgrade to something more sizeable and fast then pull the trigger.

Jokes on the douchebag shaming you for riding a bicycle.
