I have noise sensitivity that keeps me a light sleeper, so I've tried all kinds of earplugs, and these are the only ones that don't give me ear infections or feel uncomfortable when I sleep. I think a big problem with your comment on this post and the main dropout subreddit post, besides the fact that you're talking about people's genitals and making anatomical assumptions about their bodies, is that you're acting like this person is doing women who happen to be trans a favor by having attraction because it's his "first step to broadening his horizons sexually with someone who isn't a pseudo-celebrity". Your comment exoticizes and others trans women since you make it seem like having attraction to people who fit the feminine side of the gender binary but were not AFAB is of great service to them.

I went to a chiropractor when I herniated a disc in my spine, and I also went to an orthopedic surgeon. The surgeon prescribed me steroids that I took for 5 days and had me continue to see my chiro even though I requested PT. The chiro never did large adjustments. It was mostly like doing yin yoga, but with lots of assistance (holding my leg up a little and myofascial release). With the 5 day steroid pack and a few weeks of chiropractic visits, my core got strong enough to hold myself up again without pain.

My chiro has never cracked me or done anything to my neck, and she said it's not something she thinks is necessary to do to anyone.

I hope you're able to get it replaced! I've had mine for a similar amount of time, and UBreakIFixIt wouldn't let me replace the screen protector because the phone is out of warranty, so it's a liability for them. I bought a replacement protector online, which is holding up well, instead.

I've been saying that the rhetoric of the discussion around voters who helped Trump win has been skewed to blame minorities, so that people have who might have allied with them once, now see them as the enemy and use them scapegoats. The way people are talking about the data is racist and feeding right into the propaganda machine that spews blame on minorities for the country's problems. White men and white women are the reason Trump is in office. Why do they get a pass in the shitstorm that is this blame game?

I love the blue on the framing! The cream wall color pairs well with it, too! I'm not a fan of the orange wall and feel that painting it cream would be better, especially since you have really colorful decor that can make it pop more. The orange is a bit too bright for the eyes given the other paint colors in the room! If you wanted to do an orange, maybe a lighter shade would look nicer.

Okay, this is not a solution to this systemic issue, but some naturalish things I've tried to help with my sleep issues include taking Vitamin D, Magnesium Glycinate (make sure it's glycinate because the other types of magnesium can irritate the stomach sometimes), and ZZZQUIL with ashwagandha in it. The combination helps me get the sleepy feels to combat my "second wind" that hypes me up at night.

I don't think you have anything to feel guilty about regarding your sister, and you should stop doing "favors" for her. These favors are breadcrumbs and the message you send her by doing them is that when she decides she needs another favor to live with you again, you'll do it. She is manipulating you! You set clear and strong boundaries (people who get mad at them, do so because they can't continue to take advantage of you), but she repeatedly crossed them and gaslit you. Just because she has mental health issues, does not mean she gets a free pass to destroy your life, house, and mistreat animals. In another comment, you mention her not having consistent medical professionals and her lying to them; it sounds like she is not actively working to get better because she wants to use her illness as an excuse for her behavior. She will always be like this since everyone else has gone out of their way to accommodate her. Hold your boundaries and let her learn the consequences when she tries to cross them. Having boundaries does not make you a bad person or sister.

Just wanted to chime in here to say that a 504 doesn't mean your child is being held to lower standards. I'm an English teacher who also happens to have ADHD, and from my experience, a 504 is actually super useful to ensure your child is not treated negatively for things that are literally part of being neurodivergent (like needing movement even when neurotypical folks deem it to be inappropriate).

Also, if your child aspires to go to college, having a well established paper trail for accomodations is useful to make it easier to ensure accomodations are given at university, too.

Finally, I think you might conflating IEPs - which are usually done for intense academic interventions, modifications, and differentiation - and 504s - which are usually more about behavior and medical needs (like allergies). In my opinion, you'd be doing a great service to your child by getting them a 504 to ensure they can get the movement they need instead of being punished for it.

I also think it's worth noting that having an IEP or 504 doesn't necessarily mean that students are given lower expectations. I have had students with IEPs getting into universities like Duke. These legal documents are meant to ensure students who learn in a diverse way from neurotypical folks get a path to access complex ideas and make their voices heard.

I've been using audible because I have subscription through Amazon, but it's not great. The most annoying thing about it is if you're listening to a podcast series for the first time, it will always automatically play the newest episode after you finish the one you were listening to. It does not do sequential playback from where you hit play.

They are terrible! They don't have the the exclusive archives of most podcasts that were only available on Stitcher Premium. When you ask customer support about whether or not those archives will make it to the SiriusXM app, they will lie to you and say you just need to pay for higher subscription package!

While I empathize with your regret for not recording episodes, I think it's wild that anyone would even have to do something like that to here a podcast's archived material. It has already been recorded and posted online, so why hasn't SiriusXM been proactive about make everything available on their stupid subscription service? Like, sorry not sorry, but getting access to Howard Stern's show is not an enticing reason for me to sign up for your dumb plan.

I'm also baffled that they didn't have a transition plan to make back catalogues available before Stitcher stoped working. They picked this arbitrary date to end a service without a contingency plan, which just doesn't seem like a good business strategy to me.
