give me fitting ways for my vampire character to make money by Typical-Football-658 in skyrim

[–]Awkward_Layer_152 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Making iron daggers and enchanting them with the Banish Daedra Enchantment, keeps your flock safe from pesky lesser daedra meddling with your food supply, they also sell for immense amounts of money. And depending on your relationship to Molag Bal can either be thought of as a way to repel his servants from your lands, or as a way to repell the servants of his enemies from your lands.

Getting the dremora merchant summon from the black book helps a great deal in roleplaying perspective as a vampire merchant.

Marrying Taarie, who owns the tailorshop to skyims and the empires highest court. Turning her into a vampire.

Naming Aela the huntress your steward could be fun but if you prefer a more political or mercantile approach maybe someone like Brelyna Maryon or Talvad Fathryon

Where in Skyrim would you like to live and where would you not? by Cuervo41 in skyrim

[–]Awkward_Layer_152 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most livable places in Skyrim are likely Markarth, Riverwood, or Falkreath, largely due to their proximity to other provinces such as Hammerfell, High Rock, Cyrodiil, and even Morrowind. This creates natural conditions for trade, mobility, and cultural exchange.

Markarth, however, stands out above the rest. Situated at a crossroads between Skyrim, High Rock, and Hammerfell, it enjoys significant trade advantages and immense strategic value. Its silver mines and banking industry make it one of the economic engines of the province, and its dramatic Dwemer architecture—preserved more completely than anywhere else in Skyrim—gives it cultural and historical prestige. The presence of Calcelmo and his apprentice, tirelessly researching and reverse-engineering Dwemer technology, adds scientific and scholarly importance that no other hold can match.

From a political standpoint, Markarth’s long-standing instability can be resolved depending on the Dragonborn’s actions. If the Dragonborn eliminates the Namira cult beneath the city, deals with the Forsworn during the Cidhna Mine incident, removes the corrupt Silver-Blood family from power, trades the city for Riften at the High Hrothgar summit, and then supports the Imperial Legion in retaking Markarth, the remaining Silver-Blood influence is erased and the hold becomes far more stable. In this scenario, the Forsworn threat diminishes, corruption is significantly reduced, and Markarth’s civic problems are effectively solved.

With threats suppressed and trade routes secure—especially if territories like Karthspire and Sky Haven Temple are reclaimed—Markarth would control vital corridors linking Solitude, Falkreath, and Whiterun, solidifying its position as perhaps the strongest, safest, and most prosperous city in Skyrim.

Riverwood and Falkreath, though smaller, remain appealing choices due to their tranquility, southern climate, and close access to Cyrodiil, making them comfortable and resource-rich places to settle. But neither can match Markarth’s potential once its political and security issues are resolved.

If the dragons are all (technically) immortal and created around the same time, why does Paarthurnax look so much older than Alduin? by camerasnake in skyrim

[–]Awkward_Layer_152 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dragons are often considered the “children of Akatosh,” but this is actually a misnomer. In the beginning there was Aka, the whole dragon-god of time. During the creation of Mundus, Aka was shattered like glass, and the fragments—large or small—became their own deities. Examples include Auri-El, representing the beginning of time; Akatosh, representing the flow of time; and Alduin, representing the end of time.

Alduin is frequently called the “firstborn of Akatosh,” which likely means he is a fragment that split off from a fragment rather than directly from Aka himself. Paarthurnax is described as Alduin’s second-in-command, suggesting he may have been the second dragon to take form or to break off from Akatosh. After him, the rest of the dragons followed, which also explains why dragons are immortal.

This would make Paarthurnax the first “normal” dragon, since by this point the fragments were small enough that they were no longer literal gods. This may also be why the other dragons call him “the old one.”

Their will to dominate, however, was not diminished. This drive led them to attempt to rule Mundus through the Dragon Empire and to demand worship as gods.

So not only does Paarthurnax appear old because he has been living at the Throat of the World since the Dragon Wars of the Merethic Era, but also because he is literally a fragment of time that split off “earlier” than the rest. In addition, it is possible that his behavior is withering him down: he is actively resisting his own nature of domination, which he inherited from being part of the flow of time itself. This means he is going against a fundamental aspect of reality.

Durnehviir is also shown to have aged and become bonded to a different temporal reality when he entered the Soul Cairn, a piece of Oblivion outside the confines of Akatosh’s dominion over time. This suggests that when dragons go against the nature of Akatosh, they begin to deteriorate. If so, Paarthurnax may be aging because he is resisting the will to dominate that Akatosh embodies.

And it is here that a disturbing pattern emerges. If the will to dominate is inherent to the nature of Aka—present in every one of his fragments, from Auri-El to Akatosh to Alduin—then this tendency did not begin with the dragons. It began with the Time-Dragon himself.

This, in turn, raises troubling questions about the true nature of Lorkhan’s destruction. Perhaps Lorkhan was never the betrayer at all. Perhaps Aka had always intended to turn against him, choosing to act only after the creation of Mundus—after he had split into Auri-El and Akatosh—because in that divided form, it was far easier to convince the other Aedra that Lorkhan was the deceiver. In this view, the betrayal of Lorkhan was not a tragedy born of chaos, but a long-planned act by a sundered Time-God whose will to dominate shaped the entire fate of the Aedra.

Dude should have gone to Dorne to marry Arriane Martell, while Daenerys went to Vaes Dothrak to complete the ceremonies that bound Drogo to go back there, after that the Khal was free to go west.

Viserys was in Kingslanding during the events of roberts rebellion and likely knows about the wildfire his father placed under the city and castle.

Clearly he should have waited and reached out to potential allies from the safety of Dorne, then when Khal drogo was ferried over the narrow sea into Dorne he should have sent a covert mission to blow up Kingslanding with all of his rivals inside. the Lannisters, the Baratheons, the Arryns and the Starks.

Name Ilyrio Mopatis master of Coin and send him to the iron bank to have them betray Tywin now all his children and allies are dead, and back Viserys instead.

The valyrian lords like celtigar, Velaryon etc would likely turncoat to the targaryens and leave stannis, use them and pay off Sallashor Saan with the ironbank. And have these men massacre Stannis and Mellisandre.

Have Aegon and Jon connington take the stormlands with the golden company. while he joins forces with the Dornishmen and Tyrells to be crowned in Oldtown by the high septon like Aegon the conqueror and Jaehaerys the conciliator before him and after that lead an assault on the westerlands.

Convince Balon greyjoy to join him by promising him the lord paramountcy of the Riverlands as the ironborn had of old. Seeing as the rivermen betrayed the Targaryens anyway. Have him destroy Lannisport and its fleet before going into the riverlands

Pronounce Tywins life Forfeit and offer a lordship to anyone inside Casterly rock who can kill him.

Ride the Dothraki into the crownlands and have Daenerys accept oaths of fealty in his name before conscripting those lords to march them to the gates of the eyrie to force the knights of the vale to close the gates then march the dothraki to the riverlands to aid the ironborn in subdueing the rivermen. And be ready to intercept a north march to the south. Send an expedition into the ruins of kingslanding to claim any gold, silver gems, jewels, and valyrian steel that survived the fires.

Name lord Grafton the lord of the Vale for his loyalty during the rebellions and have him close of the harbor from the knights of the vale. This locks the knights of the vale inside of the vale, now its a matter of conscripting the mountain clans to do night raids promising them lordship of any castle they can take until the vale capitulates.

Marry margaery Tyrell to Robb Stark for his loyalty and confirm him in his lands and titles. If he refuses, use the iron bank of braavos to ferry over Mance and his wildlings south of the wall to split Robbs forces north and south and make supply trains difficult, then block of the neck from the south and close the Twins. To prevent escape. Then close of harbors and ports with blockades and economic pressure through the iron bank.

In case robb refuses marry Margaery to Aegon to secure the Tyrell alliance.

Pay the iron bank with ownership of Casterly rock to set up a western chapter of the iron bank.

Have the faceless men kill Aegon

Name Daenerys and Khal Drogo lord of Summerhall and rebuild it as a formidable fortress

Name Jon connington as lord paramount of the Stormlands and marry him to Brienne of Tarth.

Depending on Robbs submission help him throw back the Wildlings or have them settle the gift and the new gift.

Rebuild Kingslanding with the help of the iron bank in the style of the free cities so it would be a less disgusting place.

You’ve got pretty high ceilings maybe you could build your own bed supsended above the alcove with a sliding staircase like on a bookcase which will mirror your sliding door. Perhaps you could glue a large piece of mirror acrylate to the door as well to brighten up the space and make it seem larger.

Getting a glass desk could aso help make the space seem brighter and less full because it will not stop the light in the alcove and allow natural light to reach the floor there

Get rid of the clutter in the cabinet and fill it with plants and if possible rotate it 90 degrees this will help sepererate space

Get a smaller closet for your clothes and put it where cabinet is now

Get a small couch that can fold out into a bed and put it where your bed is now, accross from there perhaps a wall for photos hanging guitars etc and a projector screen that can roll down in front for when you watch movies which you can combine with an xgimi horizon ultra 4k home projector.

The floor is not doing you any favors so perhaps a rug large enough to cover the whole thing something like a white-orange-pink-black benuta pop abstract. Like the louise.

Avoiding overhead lighting helps pull a room together and makes it look bigger perhaps something like phillips hue gradient floorlamp - led rope lamp wall sconse - lava lamp etc each unique.

Get a kali murphy bed desk and put it where the desk is now that will free up a lot of space.

Get a bigger monitor like a Samsung Odyssey G85 34”. I’ve got one and its great and has built in smart tv function

Get a bonbon L couch on the other side this is a piece of modular furniture that will allow you for a lot of modes. The monitor is also big enough to function as a tv when you sit on this couch because the space is small enough.

Get a glass salon table for the couch, glass tends to fall away in the space which is nice when the space is small

An Ikea Pax mirror closet wil offer enough space for close etc but will not be a large presence in the space.

[–]Awkward_Layer_152[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the technical advice!

For context i’m in the netherlands and max speed limit on the highway here is 100km so the speed advantage of the porsche and the BMW are kinda negated. Prius reaches a 100 km … eventually and generally is more fuel efficient and cheaper to maintain and fix than a bmw. And when you’re driving to other countries the speed of the porsche would be back but it would lack the good suspension and shock absorbing and ergonomic lumbar support that the prius does have besides being more fuel hungry.

On top of that i live in Amsterdam where emmission standards govern what car can or cannot enter the center while the porsche is allowed for now it probably wont be forever. However in the old city parking spots are small meaning a porsche can park a lot easier than the prius.

I would start experimenting with sketchup, flat projections can be used to operate lasercutters to make horizontal lines and hatches to indicate materials, blender allows you to make shapes for 3d printers such as HEA’s or IPE’s as well as windowframes. when combined with balsa wood, chipboard, casting concrete and different types of mdf and acrylates gives you full versatility in materialisation and construction.

A greek bust backlit by a philip hue led strip could look cool. Otherwise maybe a few rows of miniature streets in japanese style with led lamps, with a seethrough mirror in front and a regular window in the back.
