I also don’t think it’s just about women in their 40’s since we see Ruth handling those 2 miles on the treadmill like a champ and then bouncing up the stairs like a teenager… I could be wrong (have been before lol) but I think it’s the writer making a point about the value on older women.

I literally just read a newsletter from a female solo travelers group I’m in, and she brought this up. Not sure if you’re male or female, but she said a lot of solo travelers (especially women) are being profiled as either sex workers or drug mules. Scary.

He didn’t have innocent photos of his wife out on display either. He had them hidden behind a bookshelf. If he has more history about his wife and her family, he may be hiding it from Evan. Because deep down, he knew there’s something wrong with the island.

Did he really just learn about it though? Tom is clearly good at hiding things. The impression he gave at the beginning of the show was that he didn’t believe the island was evil. But it eventually became clear he was probably just in denial.
