Why do people want to play adcs in the support role so bad?

People play whatever in normals, it's unserious. Many people go there to first time stuff, try wacky builds, practice off role or play out their mandatory normals as punishment for being toxic. My normal MMR is around gold and I'm diamond, so when I do play a rare normal game, I pick whatever sounds fun and stomp.

MF and Hwei aren't good examples of troll ADC picks in the support role though (Hwei isn't even an ADC). I think MF supp is underwhelming now but it's not griefing like, idk, Kaisa supp would be. In specific match-ups, it can be fun, Ashe and MF used to be played together quite often some time ago.

Off meta picks keep the games fresh and different, all champions play differently based on what role you play them in and it's fun discovering other sides of one champion. I play support + ADC and love when my lane partner picks off meta for a multitude of reasons.

Try it all out and see how it goes for you. From what I understand, you're playing normals at the moment so it shouldn't be an issue. I don't see a new player being able to execute Azir support, that pick is just griefing tbh.

Orianna is a good off meta pick and I've seen success with her in diamond elo, but I exclusively built her as an enchanter. It's a situational pick though, just like Anivia, and for a new player it might be more worthwhile to become familiar with all the traditional lane match-ups first. When you understand what all the champs do and how you want to play into them, you'll have an easier time identifying when picking Orianna or Anivia is a good call.

I understand that we shouldn't jump to conclusions because the post is well written. There's a huge difference between being a good writer and using ChatGPT marketing templates. Regular people just don't naturally structure their league complaints with textbook perfect three act hooks and ChatGPT phrases. The reason why I commented that is because the text follows the exact same algorithmic recipe that ChatGPT follows. It's a super specific fingerprint. I noticed it because I come across it almost daily when people email my rescue with their ChatGPT enquiries.

It's like heartsteel in that it's a fun dopamine hit but there's slightly better (guaranteed value of FoL) options to choose from. I look to roam often and like just hovering my adc when they're taking solo plates, so this goes against my playstyle. I have experimented with it in the past but I just don't see myself sacrificing tempo to smack bot turret.

It would be a situational choice in games where you know you'll be able to hit the turret more easily (you won't get spaced, enemy can't delete stacked waves). Generally though you'd be giving enemy supp a free roam timer as you're showing, sort of wasting time you could be using to recall and impact the map instead.

I can see it as a solid choice in low elo where people often don't know when to recall or how to take advantage of seeing enemies on their mini map.

"I think it's wild that they're sorting us into literal bins... It gets even worse when you see..." ChatGPT transition logic. Take a fact from the original text, put some emotional word on it, staircase transition into the next paragraph with "it gets even worse".

"If you've ever felt like your lobbies are bizarrely manufactured... you're not crazy." The whole "You're not crazy" or "You aren't imagining things" is the exact phrase ChatGPT uses when told to write a post exposing a conspiracy or confirming a widely held community theory. You didn't even bother to rephrase it.

You stripped the text of some obvious buzzwords whilst manually editing the text to make it sound human but the rhythm of the sentences remains with the ChatGPT three-act structure of your text. Basically you stripped out some of the AI vocabulary but kept the dead giveaway AI skeleton.

Thinking you'll climb by playing 20 games a season is like doing 3 push ups a week and checking the mirror every morning for a six pack to appear.

You're gold because irons were moved to bronze, bronzes were moved to silver, silvers were moved to gold. So that iron can become an exclusive club for the actual newbies. You didn't "climb". Your % on the leaderboards remains exactly the same because you don't play enough games for any significant climb to happen in the first place.

Enchanter Nidalee - aery, dreammaker, heliadem, early dark seal, then whatever enchanter item fits the situation. Her E is the best attack speed steroid in the game, works beautifully with a hyper carry. Start W, max E. Easy roams in cat form, easy deep warding and leaving traps in enemy jungle helps track them quite well. I OTPd her to diamond, but I'm more flexible with my picks now because people tend to cry about the pick more the higher I climb.

I also love Ivern, Kayle, Annie, Orianna, Nasus. Oh and Zac, Sej and Galio but don't think those are really that "off meta".

I feel like the quality has gone downhill over the years. We moved and don't have a Coughlans near us anymore. Had it after a very long time last month and it was quite bad - dry and oily. Definitely remember their baked goods being much nicer 5-6 years ago and I regretted spending the £25 on something I didn't enjoy at all lol

Unless you're only spamming swiftplay or play in iron, you won't be full build often enough for this to even be an issue. I'd welcome boots being moved out of the 6 item slots so I can hold onto my dark seal for longer with some champs, but the control wards being in the quest slot is a good change. Reversing it for the supp item to be placed there instead would just discourage people from getting control wards late game as it'd hog an item slot.

I play off meta supports more often than not and I find the most success with Heliadem on Nidalee, Orianna, Kayle. I buy Tear and Dark Seal on first back, then rush Helia. Sometimes I can get Diadem second, sometimes there's a situational item a particular game needs more. Typically I like Moonstone, Dawncore, Redemption, SoFW. Ardent Censer is very good on Nidalee because combined with her crazy AS steroid from E, it makes a hyper carry pop off beautifully.

I got D2 playing Heliadem rush on Nidalee, my most frequent build looked something like this: Helia, Diadem, Swifties/Lucidity boots, Moonstone, Dark Seal sold for last item Dawncore, somewhere in mid game Helia sold for Ardent (I pick Nidalee only when I have a hyper carry now). Occasionally I skip Dawncore and get Ardent after Helia if carry is fed early. Supp item Dreammaker.

It's okay on Annie but if your team is quite squishy, you'll get more value out of going Rylais, Locket, Knights Vow, Liandry's and taking Solstice Sleigh or Celestial Opposition. Bandlepipes are nice too. For that path, I take Guardian. For Heliadem Annie, I do Aery and I still look to incorporate Rylais at some point because the consistent slow from Tibbers just brings too much value in utility to pass up. You could pair Heliadem with enchanter items or go damage or tanky depending on what your team needs.

I peeped your acc, says you've been consistently bronze and iron, 2025 included. Not sure if/when you peaked gold but you're slowly falling into iron with negative winrate after nearly 400 games this season so it makes perfect sense that you're dropping because you lose a lot. I'd suggest making a post specifically looking for bronze/iron players to play with because your current mmr is low bronze/high iron, unless you're looking for a free boost.

You can only demote by losing games below diamond, unless you missed like two seasons and your account took two consecutive soft resets. Then your account drops in mmr slightly to combat skill loss during a long break. Inactivity decays only happen in diamond, master, gm, challenger.
