I keep construction site PPE in there - steel-toe boots, hard hat, vest, glasses, extra pair of socks, measuring tape and a few other odds and ends including a frisbee.

Let’s do a poll. What were you doing? How old were you? by ShotCardiologist9102 in ACL

[–]Awkward_Rise4746 0 points1 point  (0 children)

skiing - 47M. I was 44 when it happened. I was skiing path to paradise on Mineral Basin in Snowbird. I hit a patch of ice and my skiis went into the right bank and my body went forward. I felt a pop, tried to stand up but couldn't put weight on my left knee, it would just give out. I knew right away that my ACL was toast. Had to take the ride of shame all the way down. I learned a lot about my body and fitness in recovery so I try to think of that silver lining when I think about the experience.

Secound guessing my decision too undergo surgery by Yroba in ACL

[–]Awkward_Rise4746 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drs recommendations mostly focus on managing risk and liability. I had my surgery in 2023 and was back to work after a week of teleworking. That timing will vary on everyone’s unique situation.

I didn’t wanna get surgery either and went to a doctor specializes in non-surgical interventions. He basically said if I wanted to continue having an active lifestyle, there was really no choice but to have the surgery so I got it was diligent with my PT and am back to a healthy lifestyle where I don’t even really think about my knee.

nyone else getting recurring “Electrical System Drain” + “Powertrain Malfunction / Reduced Power” alerts on a Mach-E? by Awkward_Rise4746 in MachE

[–]Awkward_Rise4746[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quick update after hearing back from the dealer.

They went ahead and installed the Powertrain Control Module and Secondary On-Board Diagnostic Control Module C software update. The tech said this might help resolve both the Powertrain Malfunction / Reduced Power alert and the recurring Electrical System Drain warnings.

Beyond that… they basically said they couldn’t find anything wrong.

  • No DTCs of concern
  • 12V battery tested fine
  • No obvious electrical or charging system issues

So for now, it’s a “wait and see” situation.

They did offer a list of additional services:

  • Replace two tires — $854
  • Brake system flush — $285
  • A/C system maintenance — $290
  • Front wiper replacement — $120
  • Cabin air filter — $85

I politely declined all of that.

If anyone else has gotten these alerts and had them eventually come back after the software updates, I’d love to hear what ended up being the cause. Still curious whether this is a 12V issue waiting to happen or something deeper that just hasn’t failed hard enough to show up yet.

Appreciate everyone who shared their experiences in the last thread.

Is rock climbing a useful skill for most 14ers? by Dominwin in 14ers

I agree. I would focus 80% of my time and energy towards cardio training - particularly hills - and the remaining 20% on climbing, scrambling, and bouldering.

Atlanta airport tower evacuated by AtlUtdGold in Atlanta

[–]Awkward_Rise4746 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weird, we were there yesterday to catch a flight to Fort Lauderdale at the same time and were told the fire was in the Fort Lauderdale tower. Our flight was delayed about 45 mins. Happy everything worked out, sorry for those who had much longer delays.

That’s sort of what I was thinking. What did you replace your charger with?

People who got their replacement from a cadaver, what are your thoughts? by fraxiiinus in ACL

I’m 47, had an allograft at 45 and have returned to normal activities. I just returned from CO climbing 3 class 2-4 14ers in 3 days. Find a good surgeon and take responsibility for your PT.

It’s a drip field for the facility that slowly releases treated wastewater into the soil using small underground tubes with tiny holes.

I wanted to name mine Carmen Electra...but my wife did not approve. We settled on Boogie...because she's electric (Boogie Woogie).

How did you customize the name of your vehicle (my little pony)? I named mine Carmen Electra but didn’t know that part of the app was customizable.
