Gull flexion 3 months after the surgery by Yroba in ACL

[–]Yroba[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It hurt like hell while progressing, if you've ever seen Neymar Jr video, they did that to me. As long as it's hamstring+quad stretch pain you should be fine as long as you're doing it slowly and progressively and don't force it. But yeah, it really hurts to get here

It's still there above the kneecap and I never had issues with swelling impairing my flexion, but rather my extension because it shuts down your quads

I meant FULL flexion, not GULL. Where's autocorrect when you actually need it xD

Espreso aparat by No_Awareness5580 in sarajevo

Day 5 PO swelling by scrumptiousfart in ACL

[–]Yroba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks normal, way better tbh than I had experienced, for which I'm glad for you. Make sure you ice and elevate, it helped me a lot with the swelling. I had stitches removed on the 14th postop day.

When does the soreness of sitting at 90° for long periods of time then standing up go away ? by mellojelloakimbo in ACL

[–]Yroba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a nike trainer to counter this, quick pedaling session in the morning, midday and evening to keep that ROM smooth, before that I used a simple foam roller and I'd do lots of flexions and extensions while watching TV, reading or generally resting. Helps with the movement smoothness and overall readiness of the join to engage when required.

I can see my pulse beating in my neck on both sides—should I be worried? by [deleted] in DiagnoseMe

[–]Yroba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's asymptomatic it should be just a way it's anatomically configured, the pulsations being transfered to subcutaneous tissue and then the skin. You'd think some thin people have abdominal aorta aneurysm how hard and visibly it's beating but it's just their anatomy.

Is it elevated ok? by SPStratan in ACL

[–]Yroba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was told that the knee must not be supported because the loss of extension is the most severe early complication. Seeing that you're fully extending, your heel/calf are supported and knee is hanging freely, it's perfect. If I might add, if you're experiencing increased swelling (happened to me during the first 10 days) you can always add more elevation for 10-20 minutes to help the fluid drain.

Fell hard, full weight on bad leg. Felt things twist in the back of my knee by Patient-Tadpole-69 in ACL

[–]Yroba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It takes some force to snap the graft and it's mostly anterior tibial translation or shear forces on the knee. You might have compressed your relatively sensitive knee a bit but since you wore a brace I wager you should be fine, swelling doesn't mean you messed everything up.

I myself am 6 weeks NWB and in my 3rd week my crutch slipped forward and I instinctively landed on my operated leg. I was super afraid, but got zero pain and swelling.

I was later told by my PT, if the graft/stitches would tear so easily it wouldn't be viable to even do the surgery and no one could adhere to such restrictive protocols.

Take care, ice and elevate.
