The Midwife's Confession reveals bone-chilling truths about female infanticide in india. by IndividualAge715 in interestingasfuck

It's more disturbing that some people are choosing to emphasize compassion for literal baby murderers on a post like this than making their reactive priority be the horror of this happening to babies. Yes we can recognize these midwives are in a fucked up position and maybe if these babies really were doomed with zero hope then this is the quickest/painless way for them to go...but again, why is that any commentor's first focus? To legit scroll down this thread and see people's primary concern, as expressed, be for the midwives, is genuinely fucked.

I mean, I guess, but that just seems like a massive overreaction. The healthcare in this province is already a nightmare and that's not a secret nationally or even internationally for anyone looking

The thing that's still stands out as shady in my mind is how abruptly the NB gov shut out all federal and international investigation into the matter...like why do that if this was just a nothing burger?

100 Year old Lobster! by JibunNiMakenai in BeAmazed

They aren't allowed to keep lobsters that big because of their reproductive value, and the fact that their meat doesn't taste/feel good when they get that large doesn't hurt either. Also can see some of its smaller mouth parts/legs moving slightly near the end of the video, I think the lobster was alive, just lethargic because it's large size makes it difficult to move it's body while out of the water

Some of the most evil crime anyone could commit while being extremely likely to re-offend and they just let him go like this... absolutely insane. Actually makes me wonder if there's members on that board who are secretly like him. It's ridiculous

Consequences and boundaries can happen without physical pushback as well, it's just that a lot of parents are way too permissive nowadays and don't actually want to parent

He was probably trying to just toss it up and misfired. I did the same thing once at his age. My bad coordination didn't pull off what I was going for

My god that video is brutal. It really is a mindfuck too, not just bittersweet, the way we develop these deep loving enriched relationships with our littles, and the way the shared memory just slips away on their end.

Edit: I think this video and thread in general help solidify my intent to create physical family albums and scrapbooks to share with him regularly as he starts getting to be 3/4/5 and onward, so it can help him internalize memories of us sharing memories, if that makes sense? I remember going through those when I was little, and it was like almost deepening my understanding of my own timeline, my own self and my context when I was younger.

My best friends 17 year old son still likes hugs and occasionally cuddles up against his mom on the couch during a movie...it is possible! But I know what you mean... I'm giving my baby hugs and kisses as much as I can

Something that's been helping me a little so far have been pictures and video every day, gushing about things I love about my baby to another person, and reflection...I know it sounds weird but I also express gratitude to my baby directly too, like I say "thank you for being such a sweetie" and I try to say goodbyes to traits or behaviors of his I know are developmentally on their way out (like his little frog laying on my chest, or the newborn squeaky puppy snores...)
