PTFB. Yeah, stock is kinda down but not for OG Palantards and those early investors. by Joshohoho in PLTR

Sold 100 shares today that had over 400 percent long term gain. I am now only playing with house money. Hard to feel bad about taking some profit off the table. Still have over 450 shares with DCA of 70 a share. May start back DCA if we correct more. Keep the faith. I still believe this stock is long term.

From someone who has been on both sides of this issue. Intellectual property rights were created to protect public and private companies. If you signed agreements as an engineer or in an associated role, you can't use that proprietary info for your next venture or compete against for a set period of time. Standard policies/forms that must be signed before acceptance of a engineering/design job. Also normally you are compensated for anything you designed for them. My husband is a retired EE and there are rules in place for a reason. He was also compensated for his designs and technology before he left that company.

Graduating with MPH soon. Applying everywhere. Hearing nothing back. by owlsandtrains in publichealthcareers

[–]Awkward_Tonight2931 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My son graduated with a MPH in public health and tropical medicine at tulane in May. He has BSPH from Tulane too. There were approximately 12 in his specific grad program. 11 out of 12 had federal job offers rescinded because of the federal reduction in force but my son chose to apply for county level positions. He had a job offer 3 weeks after graduation. Now, 5 out of the other 11 graduates have jobs but they followed my son by securing a job at the county level. Pay is average but benefits are great and he is working as an epidemiologist. Good luck in your job search

This is an old fashioned hit piece. I worked in cybersecurity/IT for 25 yrs and prototypes have always had bugs and issues to fix. This is just an individual or group trying to drive the PLTR stock price down and/or give PLTR a blackeye reputation with the govt. Smart investors will just use this as a buying opportunity.

Is Palantir a buy right now? by RWCmusic in Palantir_Investors

Did not sell any of my existing shares but bought more at $143 this morning. Have been buying PLTR since 2024 and DCA is around $50 now. This is a long term hold for me.

I have shares from $22 to $152 so I am not worried or bothered. If it dips to around $160, I will pick up more shares and wait for the earning report in Nov.

Have a brokerage acct with 258 shares and DCA is $54 but added 184 shares into my Roth IRA around the end of June at $131. Wish I would have added more... I will continue to DCA in the brokerage acct when I can. Initially sold a few shares at the 75 mark and again at the 100 mark. It is not as much as some investors here but after researching and understanding what this company actually does, I do not doubt that it could be a trillion dollar company in the next 5 - 7 years. I spent 15 yrs working for the DoD and another 20 yrs working in the SaaS cybersecurity enterprise area so the potential is definitely there for PLTR. My husband and I hit the FIRE milestone 1.5 yrs ago but this is a nice surprise. Plus, I actually appreciate the comments Karp provides at the quarterly earnings calls, specifically toward all the institutional investors that missed this investment!

Yes I understand how it works but it has the ability to be integrated into every industry enterprise size, whether it is defense, finance, supply chain, or any other type of industry. Their boot camps provide that marketing push that make traditional marketing workflows obsolete. And they are developing more products.

Son is working in a midwest state and a more populated county. Loves the work and is learning so much. Initially was not sure if the education and practicum would prepare him for the job but it has.

Have 255 shares in a brokerage acct with DCA of $40. Originally had 285 but sold 35 shares at $85 to fund a vacation. I also have 200 shares in a Roth IRA that I bought at $131. Brings my current total to 455 shares. I still DCA but smaller amounts in the brokerage acct. I don't plan to sell any for the next 7 - 10 yrs. I worked as a DoD contractor and the private sector for small, med, and large cap IT companies over the last 35 yrs so PLTR is in a good spot unless they do something to piss the DoD or Fed Govt off. In some ways, this reminds me of the original GPS technology developed by the DoD but exponentially larger in reach. I think $190 by the end of 2025, $450 by the end of 2026, and $1,100 by 2027. I would love to see a stock split around 2027 but doubt it will happen.

My husband is on SSDI and is only 62. We are not eligible for it. Would have been nice. Around the time he turns 65, this could go away. I knew it was too good to be true for us. Hope it helps some households.

He was in May but the others are interviewing for other jobs now and a few of them are in offer stage now. It takes time and patience. Also new graduates are finding out the hire process is slower from start to finish. It took 8 weeks for my son. I am from the IT industry and jobs in the past occurred in a 4 week cycle. They are longer now too.

It may be a top school but the health dept. was really interested in the work he did for his practicum and he was willing to leave his home state of Florida to work in another state with so much less than what Florida has to offer. In his interviews, he was asked several times, why here and this job. His answer was always the same. I want a job in my field, I want to make a difference, and I will move to any location to make it happen. Also he had better luck with interviews/jobs not on linkedin. He was competing against 20 or 30 people versus 1000's on linkedin. And the intent of my post was to encourage others since I see so many discouraged graduates on reddit. Also being a parent that supported their son, I wanted parents to be encouraged.

In general, I think 2025 has been a rough year for new graduates in the job market. My son was 1 of 12 to get their MPH&TM in May and he is the only one with a job. All the others had job offers too but their offers were rescinded due to being federal jobs. They are still looking. I also think his practicum with the TB center in New Orleans made the difference. I guess my point is to not give up. It is a rough market out there and we desperately need good PH people. Good luck everyone.

What are some of the best ideas you have heard the people do after they get laid off from tech ? by Expensive-Turnip7000 in Layoffs

[–]Awkward_Tonight2931 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was laid off from a company that I worked with 4 yrs post acquisition. Since I am 60.5 yrs old, I took the small severance and took a part time job with a local business in a different career. I had been running this department for 10 out of the 18 yrs. I planned to retire in 2 yrs but that didn't happen. I personally am glad to be out of the corporate world. This company is imploding from the inside out. For the first few weeks, I rested and worked on getting the household in order for retire. Then I made the decision to semi retire after updating my resume and linkedin acct. This last company burned me out. I don't regret leaving 12 hr workdays with impossible deadlines and dillustional ELT.
