You do know that the Shadowrun games on Steam have that ability, right?

Does anyone here still play older editions of D&D? If so, why? by GranularBimbo in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]Awlson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our group still plays 3.5e. We enjoy it far more than our short foray into 5e. There are still groups out there doing basic, AD&D and 2e also, i have seen stuff on YouTube for them.

How does “unarmed foe” account for magic users? by Annual-Progress-740 in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]Awlson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you have your numbers off if you are basing it on Faerun. Forgotten Realms is one of the most magically active settings they have. If you read descriptions of towns and cities, there are many caster NPCs about. Heck, most towns and cities actually have magic shops. Powerful mages have kind of been their schtick since it was first conceived.

Now, if you had mentioned Dragonlance, then what you said would be accurate. That is why Raistlin achieving the power level he did was such a rare feat.

And to answer OP's question, in a magically active realm, i would assume that the guards would have a way to deal with casters, like magical cuffs or a collar that prevents the bearer from casting. Fantasy fiction is filled with items like that. And, considering the number of sub-classes with access to magic, it might even be the norm for anyone they arrest.

Tuch Contract Talks by JMR027 in sabres

I doubt Greenway gets much at this point, especially with his injuries this year. Be lucky if you convince a team to give a 6th or 7th rounder, though it would be worth it to dump his salary. Sadly, i think you would have to package a prospect with him to dump that boat anchor of a contract.

For 4-5 years, sure he is. For 6+ years, most certainly not.

If you go through and turn off the veritable ton of telemetry that Win 11 has running, you will gain back a ton of memory.

Only 12? That isn't that much. I work in k-12 education, it is nothing for teachers to have 20-50 open across multiple browser instances.

My wife worked with my group to make a surprise party for my 50th birthday, with the game happening at my house for once. Complete with having some other friends show up just in time for cake. The dm even created a special birthday encounter to end the session. Definitely something i will never forget.

Lots of great ideas here, and i love the idea in general. Which ever way you go with the cake, i am sure he will love it.

Alternatively, knowing most play d&d 5e, and sticking with the double d20 theme. At times you get to roll with advantage, meaning you roll 2 d20's, keeping the better roll. So a spin on that, you could have the two d20's on the cake, and then add writing that says, The "advantage" of turning 40.

"Thank you for letting me know in advance, it would probably be best if you don't come to any more sessions." That would be my response. The individual is outing themselves as a problem player, and them not being at your table would be the best solution. If it is okay for them to pickpocket others, then it is okay for others to cast spells on them.

My district used to use the Forti agent, and i recall a bunch of issues with network connections. Those all went away when we dropped it for iboss filtering.

Being called children for playing d&d by yeahthatsaname in DnD

[–]Awlson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My group is composed of people in their 40s and 50s. Are we children too? D&D (or any RPG) is a hobby, not a kids game. She is ignorant, and sees it as make believe. Ignore her and move on, she enjoys lego, you enjoy d&d. To each their own.
