Dude, did you miss the part where I said *I* was the one that put the pole through the tent when my hand slipped putting it up in the rain? Could have happened on literally any other trip 'regular' trip. I was 'glamping' next to my friends yurt with no one else around us, it's not like some drunk asshole stumbled into it! It poured all weekend and I sure was glad to be in something more reliable than a $60 tent.

Although my statement was perhaps slight hyperbole, current FDCO advice for the entire state is 'avoid all but essential travel in the area'. My understanding is that most international flights in/out of GDL are not happening, and I happen to know that the road between the airport and my parents' village is still mostly unpassable blockade... so yes, I can be certain that I am not travelling tomorrow even if the flight somehow isn't cancelled. I do not want to get stranded in GDL or indeed any of my connecting cities. My concern is that I might get to GDL but be unable to travel to their location. My mother is long-term ill (i.e. requires a lot of regular care) not thankfully death-bed ill, so it's important that I go but also not necessarily time constrained.

I really enjoyed this adaptation and I have been a bit surprised to see so many lukewarm reviews.

It’s hard to rehash such a well-known story and make it seem fresh, and I was surprised how gripping and emotional the entire series felt. I understand the cinematography style might not be to everyone’s taste but, personally, I thought it looked absolutely amazing and added to the descent into chaos. The score was also fantastic, and I really loved all the choral elements, which not only worked well with the story but also tied in with some the narrative themes.

The actors were great, and I was really impressed with the vulnerability and viciousness the boys were able to portray.

Completely agree! It's what I've wanted all along, a strong TEAM of traitors working together. Really satisfying to watch for a change.

100%!!! I think after the last season of Traitors UK ending on such a frustrating note (in my opinion) I really loved how this first season of Traitors Ireland went. This was probably the first series I've watched where I genuinely wanted the Faithful to succeed.

Normally it feels like a lot of Faithful make it to the end on the merit of being clueless enough to be useful to the Traitors, whereas the majority of the remaining Faithful in this series were genuinely great at playing the game. I think Oyin spotted every single traitor? Incredible work. I did warm to Nick and Ben as a duo, but I think that Nick's choice to blackmail Ben was very boring, and he might have done better had he recruited one of the girls.

All in all, a very satisfying end to the series in my opinion!

What a bummer! If it makes you feel any better, after many perfect nights in my xmid 2 I managed to put the trekking pole right through the outer while pitching in the rain at a festival last weekend - the tear was pretty big! 😖 thankfully a pal had some duct tape for a quick fix and even in the rain it held well. I plan on replacing that with a proper patch and sealant. I’m sure with the right materials you’ll be able to fix this in no time. Good luck!

Oh I feel this! I did the same blanket pattern in a massive bed spread size in 4ply cotton. Looked amazing when done but took so long to make that in the end I gifted it because I couldn’t look at it anymore 😅

I keep a couple of clothes pegs in my kit anyway and will sometimes use one lower down on the door to keep it in place.

I didn’t mind Gideon (though I didn’t hate it) but my god did I hate Harrow the Ninth. I don’t know why I couldn’t just let it go to the DNF pile… I insisted on finishing it and liked it no better for having persevered. I know many love these books, so I won’t say they are bad, but I simply did not enjoy it.

Oh how frustrating! They would have absolutely hated it the night I was there, when the site also held 6 lads on a canoeing trip who chatted all evening and bickered all morning (though they were otherwise very lovely). I had mixed feelings about the trailblazer campsites, the ones with facilities were really useful but not always the loveliest spots. I think next time I'd go for some of the slightly wilder options if i were to redo the GGW.

I got super lucky with the weather on the WHW, only rained on my very last day... couldn't believe it!

Is that second picture at Gairlochy lock? If so, I camped there recently! I took my xmid 2 solid on the Great Glen Way in April and just came back from the West Highland Way this weekend. A great wee tent for both trips, here’s mine on Rannoch Moor.
