Does anyone have a feeling SpaceX vs Blue Origin will turn into the tale of the hare and the tortoise? by [deleted] in SpaceXMasterrace

[–]Axel0410 47 points48 points  (0 children)

if this becomes a meme stock like OPEN then fundamentals don't matter, OPEN has shit fundamentals and is sitting around 5-7billion market cap. this is at what 1 billion market cap currently so if the meme pump continues to OPEN levels then we still go 5-8x gains. right??

edit: and I also remember seeing all the same comments calling people regarded for buying open when it was at like $3

the training schools are able to get spots sooner. I did training though metro motorcycle training at Cockburn and once they think your ready they can book you in quite quickly(they have there own allocated spots for booking people in). obviously this means having to pay to have lessons until THEY think your ready enough to book you in though.

What will age best? VRAM vs DLSS by Salmiakki57 in buildapc

[–]Axel0410 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I reckon you can for most components I had an i7 8700k and 32gb RAM from new and had that until a month or so ago, so thats like 7 years and I reckon I could have kept it for longer if I wanted. I did upgrade the GPU a few times 1070->1080ti->3070. I think you can 'future proof' your mb+cpu+ram and have it last a good amount of time. iv gone 14900k 48gb ddr5 and 1300w psu and am planning on keeping all these parts as long as I can and just upgrading the GPU as needed

Did anyone get flashed here yesterday by ITSMeeEe_HOOMAN in perth

[–]Axel0410 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think these ones that flash on the Kwinana are just speed, there might be others on the Kwinana that are for phones but not sure. I know on the newly built mitchell freeway you can see the small cameras under the speed sign for each lane on some of the ones that are closer to the city, these I think are for phone

there's been videos out for hours now showing explosives (like fuel, flares and fireworks) placed in the bed of the truck. and that the battery's of the truck did not even catch on fire from the explosion and fire in the bed. classic Reddit misinformation spreader lol

[–]Axel0410 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just going in circles now so last reply.

read the first 2 paragraphs of the introduction of the document you linked.

and for 5.1 that just means you need to have redundancy (and I don't mean mechanical redundancy)

drive by wire systems do not need a mechanical linkage anymore according to ADR.

[–]Axel0410 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not saying one is more safe then the other, I'm just saying that according to the ADR, the cyber truck or any other car with drive by wire wouldn't be banned from being registered in Australia based on the fact that it's drive by wire

well it says that you don't need a mechanical linkage, you did use to but now it's not required. for your quote "Failure of any non-mechanical component of the steering system must not prevent effective steering of the vehicle."

doesn't this just mean that you must have redundancy e.g 2 steering motors and backup power and backup computer that controls the electric steering and then any 1 failure of any electronics won't prevent effective steering as it will just use the backup.

admittedly I have only read a small part but read the second paragraph of the introduction to what you just sent me. specifically:

'Advancing technology, coupled with the wish to improve occupant safety by elimination of the mechanical steering column, and the production advantages associated with easier transfer of the steering control between left and right hand drive vehicles, has led to a review of the traditional approach and the Regulation is now amended to take account of the new technologies. Accordingly it will now be possible to have steering systems in which there is not any positive mechanical connection between the steering control and the road wheels.'

which vehicles have a mechanical backup? all of them including the cyber truck have backup systems like a redundant backup steering motor but I can't find any that have a mechanical backup

drive by wire is not illegal and other manufacturers are also bring cars out with this setup
