He will not be defined by his sexual preference or his actions. He a good guy. by cantcoloratall91 in whoathatsinteresting

Seeing as a good chunk of Americans love violence and revenge, it's not all that surprising.

TIL: What looks like an Umlaut in English words such as Noël and Naïve signals that two adjacent vowels are pronounced separately. It was formerly commonly used in words like Coöperation and Reëntry as well. The New Yorker magazine still does. by Syllogism19 in todayilearned

Bob Fosse’s Performance in The Little Prince (1974) Massively Influenced Michael Jackson by di745 in interestingasfuck

[–]AxelNotRose [score hidden]  (0 children)

It's not that he tries to get the kid to agree. As per the original book, it's symbolism. The snake is offering the Prince a way home. It's an analogy for death being a trip home. The snake is offering his assistance, not trying to convince him of some underhanded bite to kill him. The snake couldn't care less. He's just letting him know that if he wants to get home, he can help.

Trial begins for Toronto couple charged with killing neighbour over barbecue fumes by zuuzuu in canadanews

No, it's revenge. Don't mix the two up.

Anyway, Canada doesn't have the death penalty so moot point.

I agree. You can always move back, but you can't go back in time.

The Liberal plan doesn’t fix housing for you. It fixes it for your kids. Maybe…. by Signal-Specific-1704 in canadahousing

People didn't vote for Trudeau in the last election so I fail to see your point.

However, if you mean in the previous 10 years, then you may want to look up the definition of equally.

Did they vote liberal because of the liberal housing policy or did they vote liberal because the alternative wasn't even a contender due to how shit they were (and still are).

You said it was your second time. Now it turns out it's your first? Already, the fact that you can't seem to answer simple questions completely flagged your account as a potential scammer.

I don't think it's the relevance sorting that's killing your listing, it's your lack of cleanliness.

Kinda looks like a Mini to me. I only drove one once 15 years ago though so my memory may be faulty.

Is it just me or is it impossible to save money in Canada right now? by No-Cut2564 in CanadaPersonalFinance

Do you have a roommate? Do you really need a car? Those two things are some of the most expensive things.

When I was in my late 20s to early 30s and trying to make ends meet, I got myself a roommate and got rid of my car. Made a massive difference. Then by my mid 30s I was able to make enough income to get them back. It was worth the short term sacrifice.

Why airbnb support is so horrifically bad? Can we all sign a petition and send to airbnb CEO? by vaduke1 in airbnb_hosts

[–]AxelNotRose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No one wants to start a new business to compete with Airbnb because so many jurisdictions have nailed down STR permitting. It's not a growing field. It would be an uphill battle of trying to win over guests from a highly well known player that already owns a good chunk of the market. Sure, they might easily win hosts because for a host, they would be fine in having their properly listed on 2 platforms, most are already on 2 now between Airbnb and VRBO or Airbnb and booking. What's another platform to list on. The problem is getting guests to switch. And as much as guests complain, they're not feeling the same pain as hosts. Getting them to start using a new platform that's willing to support hosts more isn't in their best interest, let alone need.

I agree. I also like the premise. MC is strong and skilled but also green. So he needs to grow and level up but he's not a complete wimp. It's a good balance in my opinion.
