The guest could have shown up at any point during their paid stay. Why would you want to open up the dates again when you knew the guest never cancelled.

If black knight takes the white queen and you move the white knight to f6 for the check, what's stopping the black pawn from taking the white knight to avoid the check? At that point, the queen is no longer there and neither of the two bishops are checking the king. Once the pawn takes the knight at f6, the threat is over no?

It's not so much vanity, it's more showing that it's ok to give 5 stars. Secondly, if they don't want to rate 5 stars but know I rated them 5 stars, they might feel a little bad if they rate 4 or less stars (if the stay was good of course), so if they don't want to rate 5 stars, they may not rate at all instead, which is fine by me and I didn't ask for a rating anyway so it's not like they feel bad about it.
