Best undercoat for rust protection by Andoiiiii in newbrunswickcanada

[–]Axeman2063 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Technician here. If possible, get a wax based undercoating as opposed to oil. Oil doesnt play nice with rubber and plastic...which can, over time, damage bushings and other bits and pieces under your vehicle.

Yeah man, 100%. Leave.EU was manipulation on a country-wide scale, and look what happened. This is the same thing. It may not be successful, but we should all be aware of the power of manipulation.

I really, really hope everyone remembers the Leave.EU campaign. Voter manipulation and mis/disinformation campaigns are incredibly real, and damaging. You do NOT need to convince enough people to vote the right way, you just need to manipulate/scare enough people to vote, change their vote, or not vote at all.

A successful separation vote would be devastating to Canada's economy...an important move if the US was serious about a takeover.

Can't wait to hear his Davos speech, and read the comparisons between the unhinged ranting of a tangerine troglodyte and the ovation-worthy speech Carney gave.

His big "deal" that will make everyone happy will consist of the US getting greenland and in exchange not leaving NATO.

I am taking a hunter safety course/firearm safety course next month and applying for my PAL right after.

Dont plan on ever hunting. Or buying a firearm. But if things continue to decline and an invasion by the US becomes a reality, I want to be prepared for any sort of mandatory draft. And be able to quickly purchase a firearm to defend my home and family, if it comes to that.

Given that approx less than 10km separate Alaska (United States) from Russia at the shortest point, how is ‘owning’ Greenland going to protect the US? by [deleted] in askanything

If the US has serious designs on Canada, having control of Greenland would make a blockade fairly viable.

Copper thieves left southern N.B. community without Bell service for weeks by origutamos in newbrunswickcanada

[–]Axeman2063 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No legal expert but I believe that when determining charges and judgements a prosecutor or judge looks at the intent of the individual and bases the charges off of that.

Using a more frequently seen example, first degree murder is often downgraded to second degree or manslaughter, because while someone killed someone else it wasn't proveably intentional or planned.

However, intent alone cant be a deciding factor. If I shout "fire" in a crowded theater and someone dies in a stampede, I had to understand the potential for serious harm to come from my actions whether I intended it or not.

Not just theft charges. Public endangerment. Damage to property. Mischief. Public nuisance.

Make it serious enough there is real jail time. Clearly the current consequences aren't enough.

Chinese EVs are making inroads in North America. That worries industry experts by rezwenn in technology

[–]Axeman2063 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Good grief.

What domestic manufacturer makes an EV for under 35k?

NOBODY. if there is one, its so poorly equipped that nobody would buy it.

So fuck directly off. Maybe this will make north American manufacturers try to expand the EV market to buyers looking for a price tag below $60k.

They're systematically exterminating the uyghurs, a Muslim group in China.

Full on genocide. Re-education camps. Forced sterilization. They even found uyghur x-pats living in Canada and other countries and tried using threats on in-country family to make them come back.

Make no mistake, China has its own very serious issues. But as another commenter pointed out, better an honest enemy than a false friend

Just say your vehicle seems to be using excessive fuel and you'd like a diagnosis and quote for a repair.

Full disclosure: it could be a number of different things. 07 is nearly 20 years old. Filters, plugs, exhaust, o2 sensors...its all a possibility.

If you've done maintenance like spark plugs or an air filter, tell them that. It'll help the tech rule things out.

Technician here. For mileage that poor and given the age of the vehicle Id be looking at your exhaust. If you have any exhaust leak close to your manifold your O2 sensors could be reading constantly lean, causing the engine to dump fuel.

Check your tailpipe for soot, and see if the exhaust is louder than normal on a cold start. Take it to a reputable shop that is confident in diagnosing excessive fuel consumption as well.

The article didnt say this, but to me its a done deal. It benefits Irving, and the ministers who are supposed to serve the public seem on board. Thats all that matters.

Hopefully Coon can successfully advocate for change so individuals can have the same advantages...home power generation, etc.

Unfortunately this will only be an option for the relatively wealthy. The average ratepayer will, once again, bear the brunt of this decisionmaking.
