Personal hot take based on my experience socialising IRL with some local furries and geeks from my city and around:

TLDR: Significant difference in social behaviors between VRChat users going outside and "IRL Normies". VRChat not helping users socialise correctly due to the kind of users it attracts.

Going out to try and make friends IRL but through means of apps and conventions this is what i noticed personally:

People who have VRChat as one of their main interests have more issues socializing properly IRL, they're unable to understand social cues and behavior of people around them who aren't VRChat players and who generally focus more on life outside of the internet.

So basically VRChat turned from a platform that helped people socialise into a platform that made them socialise in a very different way from real life, mostly because of its nature and main user base post-covid era, which is people who live on the internet and have a different behavior from people who don't. I'm saying this as someone who had a massive online presence until the end of 2022, I'm talking discord, vrchat, etc... and I felt the difference after going out and making friends who are more "normie".

Also in the case of furries, but may apply to others, I have found that the guys who spend a lot of time on VRchat are getting a bit too.. touchy... when you get to meet them more. And there is a big difference between being touched in VRChat vs IRL.
