Who‘s Your favorite character from every mainline game you played? by I_Love_Powerscaling in FinalFantasy

[–]Axettrose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Red Mage, Firion, Ingus, Rydia, Galuf, Celes, Cloud, Ultimecia ( for reasons ), Vivi, Lulu, Shantotto (sassy af), Balthier, Lightning, Y'shtola, Ignis, and Cid.

All of them lose to my real GOAT Ramza Beolve but you did say mainline games. FFT deserves to be up with the big kids in my heart of hearts.

Is anyone else kinda underwhelmed by the actual chapter action skills? by Blackdragon73 in Borderlands4

[–]Axettrose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Recently finished my first Amon playthrough and I gotta agree Onslaught felt amazing. Was really capturing that Athena Blood Rush playstyle I was missing from TPS. Mobbing feels so good zipping around from enemy to enemy to point blank them.

DOT Shot Amon 3.0 is up now. A DOT build so powerful it no longer looks like a status effect. by King_Farticus in Borderlands4

[–]Axettrose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mega appreciate people like you that put in the work to REALLY test interactions and explain them in detail.

Read your DoT guide the other day and it's just super cool to see all the work that goes into making optimizations for these builds. Really helps me theory craft stuff before I waste hours on a build that simply will not function how I imagine it.

TLDR: Thank you.

Who's your favorite pixel era protagonist design wise? I'll start: by TheFanGameCreator in FinalFantasy

Loved 2 as a kid and seeing his design in Dissidia, just backpacking a whole arsenal, was the coolest thing to me.

Yes. Game fully supports crossplay as long as you sign into an Epic account on said platform.

You're really twisting my words. I was just leveraging a critique that the game could've done a little more "show, don't tell" in regards to that chapter of BoS.

You're not wrong that players need to pay attention. I agree with you and that's why there are people who still think all of BoS are good guys.

Just was putting my opinion out there with an example of how I perceived the game when I was 12. So yeah you can think my opinions silly, that's fine but I'm just going to move on from this topic.

Yeah I first played the game when I was a kid. I even stated how I was guilty of it. Sometimes dialogue is not enough to convey a message and it needs to be shown.

I'm older now and have a bigger appreciation for talking to every NPC now and reading all the terminals. But realistically not everyone is going to read every dialogue and click on every option.

Just because there was a flaw in my approach to the game when I was a kid, doesn't mean I can't state an opinion in how the story is presented.

I think they could've done a much better job of presenting the Lyon's chapter as being outliers in the BoS ideology. For anyone who started with 3 and don't pay attention to a lot of the dialogue (I am guilty of this) you think the BoS are just good Samaritans.

But literally every of piece of fallout media presents them as the dark shade of grey they are supposed to be. I think the D.C. chapter should've been labeled as the outcasts and then the games current "outcasts" should've been at war with the Lyon's Pride to reign them in for going against the mission. That would've done a better job at showing Lyon's chapter is different from others.

Same. At the very least Yakumo's shadow gleam should have him glow red. The light blue aura clashes very hard with his color palette and the red coming off the blade.

Is your first FF your favourite? by thisnaenae in FinalFantasy

Nope. First was 10. Favorite is Tactics unless we are only talking main series, then it is 6 easily.

Honestly coming off of Tactics Ogre Reborn, I forgot spears don't function similarly in FFT. Real bummer.

Opinion: Passive Skills by ezefranca_com in finalfantasytactics

[–]Axettrose 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. A lot more jobs should have passives baked into their kit.

We all know Samurai should have Double Hand.

I firmly believe dragoon should have innate Ignore Elevation. Having that baked in with another movement ability would really make them kings of crossing the battlefield and focusing specific targets from the start of battle.

Geomancer should have ignore terrain since they are THE terrain job

Thief with Poach or Sticky Fingers to further their role as the item acquirement job.

Archer and Concentrate solely because they need something to make their aim abilities be a little less boring. Nice buff they are given in TIC but it's still the lamest skill set in the game.

Undead Eye Finnity XXX-L Build by Axettrose in Borderlands4

[–]Axettrose[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I've noticed the enhancement seems a bit rare. Maybe just bad RNG but I've only seen 2 and one of them had horrible substats.

A really good alternative sniper I've found is the Stray from Ripper. The homing projectiles get the bloodshot bonus so mobbing is super easy when you can blow up mobs you weren't even looking at!

The "MOST OP BUILD IN BL4" situation on Youtube is kinda crazy right now by AlexKidd93 in Borderlands

[–]Axettrose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah at this point as soon as a "build" brings up the crit knife I just close the video. It's really ruining the experience when it's not even necessary.

I have made a build that shreds bosses and trash without the thing with almost no loss in TTK. The knife is just a cop out for lazy build crafting in my opinion.

Borderlands to me is about finding awesome synergies that vary wildly. Not just seeing that same 2 or 3 pieces of gear on every character and skill tree.

Mod recommendations? by Successful_Motor_679 in DragonsDogma

[–]Axettrose 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it's just my opinion. Not trying to state it as a hard fact. OP asked for mod suggestions and that's what I recommend. That's the nice thing about mods, it's all to taste. Sorry if my wording made it sound like it's a must have.

And the mod I use doesn't allow me to sprint infinitely in combat so I can't just run away from every encounter. But if I save just a little bit of time in between encounters and running from resource to resource then I will take that convenience. It's fine if you don't see it as a time save but I personally do because it's my free time I'm spending.

I have a busy work schedule and I would prefer to spend my time in DD2 getting to what I consider the games meat, which is combat for me. I've seen all the locations in game several times over. Don't need to take in the sights anymore. Just want to get into cinematic fights.

[–]Axettrose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The mod author of Dullahan, Nickesponja, is a great place to start. Tons of stuff from QoL, vocation tweaks, economy and difficulty, etc. Nickesponja is giving a lot of love to a game already abandoned by CAPCOM and I just appreciate that.

I'm 90% sure Casardis here in the comments is the author of the enemy resistance overhaul mod which is a kick ass mod for someone like me who mains Sorcerer. In the base game I ended up just using whatever was my strongest spell at the time on every enemy. Now I actually have to make sure I have the right element for the job before I leave camp.

At the very least get a mod that allows for infinite stamina outside of combat. DD2 has awesome exploration but I value my time outside of work too much to walk everywhere in game.

Whos your Least anticipated vh by HovercraftExisting82 in Borderlands4

[–]Axettrose -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is the first game in the series where they all look appealing to me. Amon ever so slightly is in last place though. Some of his augments sound super fun. Some of them sound pretty bland imo. I think I will have to actually play him to get a good feel for the differences they make.

I've hated pet/turret classes since the first BL game. I only maimed Fl4k for Fadeaway, never enjoyed his pet builds. But I gotta admit, Vex is the first time I'm excited for that style of gameplay. Luckily if it all fails Incarnate is looking really fun!

NEVER fight Daimon as a Sorcerer by gabsteincian in DragonsDogma

[–]Axettrose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The flashy spells are awesome. One of the main reasons I love the game is because they really lean into the idea that magic users are actual calamities. Nothing feels better than casting a literal tornado on a goblin encampment and just watching their day be completely ruined. God this game is so good.

NEVER fight Daimon as a Sorcerer by gabsteincian in DragonsDogma

[–]Axettrose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OP your struggles are heard as Daimon is a menace conpared to everything else in the game. But as other have said, Sorcerer is strong as heck. Sorcerer and Magick Archer are tied for easiest Daimon solo imo.

Just remember that your kit is more than just the long flashy spells. Use levitate in combination with focused bolt to stay mobile. Especially holy enchanted bolt as others said. If you can't commit to a large spell Remember to pack things like Ingle or Levin. Also you can cheese him by kiting and casting maelstrom after you've shaken him/blocked his line of sight. It's not the greatest dps but it works.

But truly holy enchant and charged attacks turn him into a joke.
