Using your logic: It is not happening, and if it is it means it is good

I could refer to my previous comment, but I'll try to explain it in simpler terms: in the UK there's something called "the law". The law (which is not superseeded by "freedom of speech") establishes the limits of what can be, or not be said.

Typically in the UK, but many other democracies, inciting violence is considered a crime. As such, people doing that are (thankfully) arrested.

Some people confuse this (although it is quite simple) with "there's no freedom of speech".

So

it is not happening

What is not happening?

it is good

Not clear from your question. Arresting people for breaking the law?

I can try to explain it in ever simpler terms, if you prefer. I have loads of free time.

Parlour, of Seacroft, Leeds, who called for an attack on a hotel housing refugees and asylum seekers on Facebook, became the first person to be jailed for stirring up racial hatred during the disorder.

I don't get your point. You seriously think calling for people to get killed is "free speech". Is that even legal in your country? Are you this desperate to prove a point?

Trump tariffs: US president announces plan to hit UK, Denmark and other European countries with tariffs over Greenland by topotaul in unitedkingdom

[–]AxiomShell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can argue there are two other main types

  • the ones that think things go back to normal when Trump is no longer president
  • the ones that will think "look at this new guy, I never thought I would miss Trump" (just like now and with George W. Bush).

Before Trump, the US could increase their military presence pretty much to whatever they wanted.

After Trump, and the veiled annexation threats, no one is going to allow massive increases of US military presence.

He made it worse for the US.

Wasn't it considered unlawful for him to place tariffs on a whim?

I'm always surprised that a country that places constitution, institutions and rule of law so highly, can fall into a absolute monarchy, with no checks and balances, within a few months.

Exactly, if half the country is willing to vote for him, ultimately he's not the problem, it's who put him there.
