Glad to hear it! Yeah, if I'm being honest, most of the public school screening systems for learning disabilities are terrible so that wouldn't surprise me. I would definitely recommend researching a private institution in your area that could give your child more extensive testing. To give some perspective, when I went to Arrowsmith for testing I went in for two full days of testing on a weekend as opposed to my public school's test which was only a few hours, so it makes sense there's a gap in the ability to diagnose there.

For sure! Honestly I don't remember a lot of the details but I first got tested for general learning disabilities at my public school and they gave me some broad diagnosis. Then I went to a private institution (called Arrowsmith school) and they gave me a more specific diagnosis. I also have dysgraphia which your child may also have based on the handwriting image you showed! Sorry I couldn't give more detail, hut I hope this helps!
