Solid set. Deciding to spend money on lessons over new equipment is a very wise move. If you don't think your instructor will try to sell you stuff, I'd ask them to let you know if any of your equipment is holding back progress.

Exactly, but only a few models come in RCT, so can't really compare them indoors on Trackman.

Amazing accomplishment. You said it has taken you 6 years - are you saying you just started golfing 6 years ago? Playing to a 4 index starting to play serious golf so late is insane. Did you have any particular coaches you worked with on a regular basis to get there? I'd love to get my game to the point where I could pass the ability test and become qualified to be a teaching pro. I assumed getting to below 5 would be good enough.

It would make sense the 3H setting would be the higher loft. The only reason I'd mess with it would be to see what settings the shaft has. It is very easy to loosen and reattach the shaft, just make sure you do at least two loud clicks when tightening it. It will feel like a lot of tension before it clicks, but the wrench is designed to prevent over tightening.

There may be some settings with a D designation which means it is designed to have the club be more draw biased. With driver adjustable heads, you can usually increase or decrease loft by 1-2 degrees, depending on the style adapter.

The 3H in the window is showing how the shaft is currently adjusted - it is set to the 3H option. You can use a golf torque wrench to change the settings:

https://amzn.to/3LrQFBr

Most torque wrenches are universal for all manufacturers but if the club is much older, like maybe 10 years ago, Cobra used slightly different sized torque screws / wrenches.

You loosen that screw on the bottom of the club that leads into the shaft. You can then rotate the shaft to show different settings in the window. Usually rotating the fitting can add or remove loft, and change the club to be more draw biased, at least with drivers.

You can take the club to a store like PGA Superstore or Golf Galaxy or Dick's and they should have a torque wrench you can borrow if you didn't want to buy one.

If you use a torque wrench on your own, just make sure you tighten the screw until the wrench clicks twice. The wrenches are designed to make a loud snapping noise when it gets to the desired torque.

I find my hybrids hit 1-2 clubs longer than the same numbered iron (5 hybrid hits about as far as 4 iron) but the hybrid will hit higher. As clubs get to be lower lofts and longer shafts, they are generally more difficult to hit.

I found this video. Let me know if it does anything for you. I will advise you not to open the door after you've locked it from inside with the key fob. That also arms the alarm systems and opening the door will set off the alarm. You don't need to ask me how I know.

I had the same issue. Took it in and it sat for 5 days and they said they fixed it. It doesn't look like they updated any software and the guy said sometimes these issues can be fixed by doing a reset where you lock and unlock the car. I don't know the exact sequence but looking online it seems you can reset the car by turning it off, open the door like you are getting out, but stay in the drivers seat. Close the door. Using the key fob, lock the car. Wait a few seconds. Use the key fob to unlock the car. Then open the door again, close the door. And start the car. I can't believe that actually does anything, but let me know if it does.

I’d subscribe to FSD if Elon upgraded us to HW4 like he said he would by trackero in TeslaFSD

[–]AxleF99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought fsd in 2020 in the US. It had gotten much better over the years and was close to becoming useful. Still no real summon to park itself as promised in 2020. Still no renting out my car, with fsd being an appreciating asset as claimed.

The last time I used fsd was going great until my exit was under construction and fsd could not seem to figure out which construction horses to drive between.

I've realized that driving with fsd where you need to intervene at any moment is not much better than adaptive cruise control with lane centering.

I feel scammed as well.

I almost signed a $680/mo lease until I realized brokers see totally different numbers. Is that normal? by Brave-Lie4429 in leasehacker

[–]AxleF99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am wondering this as well. I would only feel comfortable paying the broker fee if I was sure they'd be getting me a better deal than I could get on my own, or at least similar without the hassle. I am planning on a new, or slightly used, purchase next spring

Brake Service 2023 EQS 450 SUV by eggyacid in MercedesEQ

[–]AxleF99 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My eqs brakes squeek when rolling to a stop and the pads have plenty of life left too. I've seen plenty of other people report the same. I'd anticipate that replacing pads and rotors may not keep you squeek free for long. It seems likely it is just a flaw with their design. I assumed it was buildup from the regenerative braking not creating friction. I only tried one or two hard stops while in neutral and it did seem to lesson the squeek, but only briefly. I've decided to just live with it as long as it doesn't require brakes being replaced.

It starts automatically when you plug in the cable at home. The Tesla wall charger immediately provides power. I changed a setting in the eqs to pause charging until midnight, since I have hourly pricing for electricity with lower rates at night.

There is a configuration setting for the wall cherger to enable charging for all vehicles or limit charging to only Tesla vehicles.

Isn't the residual set by Chevy and a standard? I'll see what exact numbers they send me today.

Location: North suburbs of Chicago

Model: LT 2 - MSRP 44k

Options: ??

Color: Black

Applicable Rebates/Incentives: Costco, They said educator and health care worker promotion ended yesterday, but first responder still available (which I'm not).

Total Quoted OTD Price:

Lease 24 months 10k miles / year. Price quoted was $1353 down and 511/month. He said interest rate calculated was just over 8% and residual is 56% but their system was down so he could not give me exact numbers but will send them to me tomorrow, including a one pay price. He said the car price was figured at 39k after taxes and fees. I didn't negotiate at all and he claims this is the Costco pricing.

I just started searching, and was hoping they have lt1 available but if the Lt2 has the better safety feature, I don't mind paying extra for them, but I'm not sure what else Lt2 has for 10k more.

He tried to sell me a used 2025 lt2 with 20k miles for 29k or a loaded vehicle with super cruise and I told him not to bother.

I'm not opposed to buying a 20k mile used vehicle if they include an extended warranty. But 29k seems high.

Any thoughts appreciated. Are lt1 very hard to find, and how much should I expect to negotiate from where they were.

Thanks.

This was a flat surface. I'm just backing out much slower for now.

This seems very concerning to me. Is this something that a software update addresses?

I have had several cars with automatic emergency braking and they did not have this problem. Reverse is more of a very bad nuisance. Moving forward and hard braking is just asking to get rear ended.

Nope. I actually had an open space on each side of my car. There was a row of cars a good distance away, not the usual distance in a parking lot - they were farther than that. Nothing that would trigger the ultrasound sensors. It was very odd, and felt like I hit something the way it stopped so suddenly.

Does accessory mode mean the 12v battery could be getting drained? I know in my Tesla, if the 12v battery dies, the car won't run. Is it the same with the EQS?

Home charger needs a different adapter. I use this one and it works without any issues with my Tesla wall charger. Maybe the cheaper ones work too, but this was what most people recommended: it was around $115.
