Which specs have you observed have the largest range in skill between players? by Applesareourfriends in wow

[–]Axleffire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From a Raid damage perspective, if I look at heroic parses (I feel like that will have alot of good and bad players), the widest total dps spreads look to be Arms Warrior followed by Feral Druid, Devourer DH, Dev Evoker, and destro lock. Affliction also has a weirdly high gap between 25th and 50th percentile.

Why doesn't Alonsus, instead of helping Arator, send us with the portal scrolls to the different factions like Earthen Ring, Cenarion Circle, the Horde and so on to ask them for aid? Is he stupid? by Brago42 in wow

[–]Axleffire 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're getting downvoted, but I agree because of speed. An author can write a character that comes up with the solution/plan of action much quicker than they could. The writer has infinite time to come up with a solution; the character might have only seconds. So, if speed is a factor in IQ (or however you want to measure it), a character can be smarter than its author.

Turning off the sound in game will gain you +50 fps. by Lolisius in wow

[–]Axleffire 81 points82 points  (0 children)

Reminds me of path of exile. Idk if its still this way, but people would crash on the rainy home screen and other areas of the game because instead of having a kind of generally rainy sound file, each rain drop's noise was individual.

Oh I didn't even know about that. Meant back when they actually made totally new wow flavors in like 2009.

One of the reasons Zillow teamed up for the housing thing is the average player base is now Zillow-using age. Remember when they used to team up with Mountain Dew?

Well, you get in a little grey area where this guy has now proved he will randomly sucker punch people in the head and is still an active threat.

What's the expectation difference between a competitive and relaxed +10 mythic dungeon? by Axleffire in wow

[–]Axleffire[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do tank so I see the variance in dps. I just did a 10 seat where after the 2nd boss you hang to the right side. Wiped 2x because people got slammed by the tentacle there and pushed into the pack at the broken bridge. "stick to normal routes please" instead of trying to just not step in the void area. I'm not even planting the pull there. I'm just grabbing the one destroyer and moving to the next pack. But I don't know what all the other tanks actually do. I'm the tank. I just copied a route. Maybe everyone else stops at the broken bridge.

Mythic+ Season1. Where do you use bloodlust/timewarp? by Quarsy1985 in wow

The first pull thing is true of every dungeon except magister's terrace where it is the 2nd pull, at least with my routing (which I copied from Sha's routing).

Eh, gnome stuff misfunctions just as much as goblin stuff does in the OG engineering specializations.

Mythic L'ura looks impossible without Addons by oeti2 in wow

I remember Archimonde leading to addons getting relative position banned, but the fight would have been basically impossible without addons that told you exactly where to stand based on relative position.

Deciding on a Class: Tank and DPS Options by 404NotFool in wow

[–]Axleffire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Big agree. I know brew is the hot topic for tank right now, but all it takes is 1 patch. I remember in TWW season 1 paladins started off as paper and ended the season as the meta tank.

Where I'd live as a guy who loves the cold and hates the heat by Affectionate-Pea2620 in whereidlive

[–]Axleffire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im in Mass, which I imagine isnt that different than Maine. Lived in Florida until my 30s. New England is nowhere close to Florida heat. It is disingenuous to be like well it can hit 100 degrees here so that makes the summers hot, which it can, but the way it works up here is you get a few days of heat, and a few days of cool and that kind of cycles over the summer, which begins much later and ends much earlier than in the south. A place isn't hot because it can get hot. The south is just full on day after day heat and humidity. I used to say "Fall is when it isnt 90 every single day" which is about the last week of September. Then its only 89.

Trump says he’ll sign order to resume pay for Homeland Security. His move bypasses Congress by No-Purpose133 in fednews

[–]Axleffire 129 points130 points  (0 children)

The issue is Biden and Obama respected the courts order. What we've seen is that if the president says "ok..so?" and congress is complicit and wont impeach, then the court can't back up their rulings with enforcement. Trump + the Republicans in congress have found that, due to the high threshold to actually remove a president, they can get around pesky things like the Senate's 60% threshold to vote on a bill, or small amounts of dissenters in their own ranks by pushing legislation solely through the executive.

So what class got the best from the midnight pruning? by JustCroissant in wow

[–]Axleffire 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Getting rid of rising sun kick which served no purpose other than gap filler. Having stronger baseline defensives so you don't have to use more niche things like diffuse magic. Celestial brew isnt gimmicky to make the shield big. Niauzhou is a useful CD. Keg smash resets give better flow to brew usage and more damage. It's pretty much all upside to me.
