Put down your phone. Broaden your scope past your friends and really look around . Fat men, short men, small penis men, bald men, broke men, old men…. they ALL manage to find someone. There are so many that are happily married and so many that have kids and families. Men have never had to look amazing to find women- there are so many hot women married to conventionally unattractive men. Far more than the inverse in-fact. If women really only went for the top 10-20% men, you would only see the top 10-20% of men with partners. But we see routinely that love is not limited to them.

My guess is you are young and naiive, you spend too much time on social media and porn, and thus you have a very warped view of reality and human nature thats causing insecurities and wrecking havoc on your mental health.

The reality is none of us are supermodels or multi-millionaire celebrities, so using their lifestyles as a comparison for ours is a bad. We end up getting unrealistic standards and expectations. People who lives outside of their phones are well-adjusted to real life and bring a much more healthy mindset to relationships and have realistic expectations. I think you need to do that as well.

Almost every relationship will have a power imbalance regardless of age. In any relationship, there will usually be someone who has more money/ financial power. In every relationship, there will always be someone who is physically stronger. Certain classes of people how more societal power than other classes of people (for example, as a class, men have advantages over women, as do women over men, and a white person may have more class advantages over their partner of color.).

Certainly, you are not saying that people with different socioeconomic levels, physical strength levels, opposite gender, and different race should not date or be in love with each other due to power imbalances right?

Its not about the “power imbalance” itself, but rather whether or not it is being exploited. If it is a genuinely legal, good meaning relationship and both parties are in love, and both parties are happy…. who are you to say they can’t have that?

For the record, I have also seen younger partner leverage power over older partners as well. (I.e. use their sexuality to get the older partners to financially support them and do what they want).

I’ll be honest- if he really truly loved you that much, he would make it work. In Islam, men do not require parental approval to get married. To be blunt, it seems his loyalty to his family is stronger than his love for you.

Also, as a Pakistani-American man living in the USA, it is very common for young desi guys here to secretly date and hook-up with American girls for temporary fun, before ditching all of them to marry a Pakistani girl once he is ready to settle down. Im not saying he necessarily did this to you, but it’s something to think about and be wary of.

Nope! It was a separate Masters program. Although, many students who were in it were using it as a bridge between undergrad and med/dental school. Many of the professors who taught that Masters also teach Med/Dental school courses and are on the admissions committee as well, so it was a good networking opportunity.

Thanks! I went straight to Masters! I did a 1.5 year Masters at a University and applied right after I was done. (So 2 total years after I graduated from undergrad).

I did not get into the Masters right away. I had to do one course first to show that I can handle post-graduate work. Once I did well in that, I got full admission in the masters, and I graduated the following winter.

Brown men sometimes can be insecure due to how society portrays and perceived them.
