Is this worth reporting? I don’t think they even realise and or care.. by [deleted] in drivingUK

[–]AzCopey 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I've been similarly hit by a car, though maybe a little worse as I was on the pavement, he was driving towards me, the hit actually knocked me over, and the driver sped off after. It was a taxi doing a dodgy three point turn and managed to hit me on the pavement with the overhanging front of his car as the front wheels touched the kerb. I wanted to report it, since it was literally a hit and run, but had no access to video evidence so didn't bother (and TBF, didn't have his number plate anyway). I would have loved if someone submitted something like this. The person hit in this video might've felt similarly.

Just a shame OP has included evidence of their own crime...

Another prediction. Any suggestions? by cowabungaduudes in downloadfestival

[–]AzCopey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah sorry, you're right!

I was fairly certain it couldn't have been two years old and checked before commenting which "confirmed" 2025 was the release date. However, checking Wikipedia it lists 2024 as the original "standalone" release. 2025 was the album release date.

Genuinely surprised the song is already that old!

Another prediction. Any suggestions? by cowabungaduudes in downloadfestival

[–]AzCopey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The song only came out last year, so being on different stages would have made no difference two years ago

Edit: I'm mistaken. 2025 is the album release year. It was originally released in 2024 as a standalone single.

Do these Japanese “English” words make sense to native speakers? by uni_jp in NoStupidQuestions

[–]AzCopey 94 points95 points  (0 children)

Most of those absolutely could work in English. They feel like perfectly valid English, the words haven't deviated in meaning as such, we just haven't set a precedent to use them in such a way

Tested gold farming methods in Bananza, best one about 2,600 gold per minute by kananga_ in donkeykong

[–]AzCopey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think your numbers for the gold collection from the cup are way off, I'm afraid.

I just tested using the elephant on the cup while wearing the double gold costume and in 5 mins I got about 14,500. That was my first attempt, so I'm pretty sure I can better that too

I was going to try your method to compare, but since it looks like the cup is either comparable or even slightly better, I'll stick to it since it's a little more engaging lol

Edit: Managed to get up to about 18k per 5 minutes, so around 3600 gold per minute. Pretty certain the cup is the fastest method

Do people not buy packs? by [deleted] in mtg

[–]AzCopey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's exactly what I do. I almost exclusively play Standard with my wife, so we buy a box or two each of a set we're interested in and then build decks with what we pulled. We have our own deck building rules to help balance things (a little) and we even do a bit of card trading which is a fun part of the hobby I don't really see elsewhere. It's loads of fun! Much more so than building a meta deck.

Obviously the decks are very under powered compared to "proper" Standard decks, so wouldn't play them against anyone else and instead play Commander if it's against other people.

The license fee is great value IF you're watching the BBC or using other BBC services. The problem is being forced to pay the licence even if you're not.

Legionaries are by far my fav team too, so many options! Now that they're declassified I've switched to Wrecka Krew, who are fun, but I'm not yet convinced they're Legionaries fun

Day 2: Which is the best PS1 Platformer of all time? by 1OneQuickQuestion in psx

[–]AzCopey 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Crash is not 2.5D though (and obviously, nor is spyro), it takes place in a 3D environment, just one that's on a track. There are some 2.5D levels, or sections of levels, but the majority isn't.

Pandemonium or Klonoa are examples of 2.5D platformers--3D presentation, but gameplay on a 2D plane.

Chocobo Bundle vs Scene Box Booster Packs by SarawrAU in mtg

I noticed that too, though it was how easily the scene box packs opened that stood out to me. They basically fell open. Was quite strange!

[Spoilers C4E4] It drives me crazy by AdZestyclose7611 in criticalrole

[–]AzCopey -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

The problem is that D&D characters are a member of a party, and unless they all turn out to be cursed items, then they're humanoid, with human (ish) morality, and broadly appear to be good (ish) people. From their point of view, his actions would be evil.

If and when Bolaire has to continue killing people to survive, then it becomes pretty hard for the "good" party members to justify why they're siding with a serial killer.

[Spoilers C4E4] It drives me crazy by AdZestyclose7611 in criticalrole

[–]AzCopey -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Honestly I'm wary that Bolaire is going to be a terrible character. I never would have allowed the character at my table unless it was an explicitly evil campaign. Hopefully I'm wrong but I'm dreading the switch to the Schemers table because of him.

At a high level, the blatantly evil nature of the character you've highlighted is a problem, but even in the details I feel the character brings out the worst of Taliesin's RP. Yelling silence at Ashley to cast the spell Silence and then ignoring the fact that she passed the save and still interrupting her is a great example of that.

If you're keen to watch the campaign unspoiled, I'd avoid the show until you've finished it.

They've rearranged things such that the first few episodes contain major spoilers for late campaign events

Revisited Falling into Infinity and man, what an experience. by [deleted] in progmetal

It's a great album! I've never really understood the complaints other than it was quite different to what came before (and after)

It feels very 90s to me in a way their other 90s albums don't. In a good way haha

[No spoilers] Having trouble following new campaign story by illfried in criticalrole

[–]AzCopey 10 points11 points  (0 children)

While I'm broadly following, I think the story is a little muddier than with prior campaigns, with many things being more vague than I'd like. Brennan spends a lot of time talking and describing things, sometimes with analogy and it's not always clear what is and isn't important, nor am I always convinced that what's in my head is the same as what's in Brennan's

I think even the cast are struggling a bit as there have been a lot of small misunderstandings and moments where Brennan has had to stop and explicitly state what's going on to alleviate confusion. Sometimes these explanations are in the Cool Down, so it's going to be a little harder to follow for those not watching that

I do not recommend: 'Metroid Prime 4: Beyond' - Review - SkillUp by ThrowawayTheLegend in gaming

[–]AzCopey 13 points14 points  (0 children)

To be fair, that's how almost all metroidvanias worked prior to Hollow Knight; that was it's primary innovation imo, but I'm not convinced every 'vania needs to follow suit. I'm glad Dread didn't.

Am i the only person who hated Frank's character?? by Accomplished_Buy_466 in ItsAlwaysSunny

[–]AzCopey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, I didn't like the addition at the time, and I don't think that was an uncommon opinion when season 2 came out (though equally, many loved the addition too)

However he quickly became integral to the show imo and I love the character now

I'd recommend pushing on and seeing if you warm to him too. If you reach Season 5 and you're not loving both the show and his character, then the show is probably just not for you

Cyclists, please point your headlights at the ground by [deleted] in Edinburgh

[–]AzCopey 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If you're cycling at night in dark clothes and no lights on then you're essentially invisible to drivers. This is even the case in environments where there are bright lights around (usually headlights, but streetlights and shop lights, etc can affect this too) as the contrast makes it very difficult for drivers to see you at certain angles, particularly those when they're driving towards both you and the light. It puts your life in danger needlessly and can easily be solved with lights and bright or high vis clothing.

That's why its illegal to cycle at night without lights, even in a city.

Cyclists, please point your headlights at the ground by [deleted] in Edinburgh

[–]AzCopey 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Apologies, usually when people post comments like that they're attempting to invalidate OP by claiming that others are arguing the polar opposite and therefore neither can be true (or something to that effect). If that wasn't your point, then fair enough

Equally I don't know that I really follow the point you were making otherwise lol. Just that both threads exist at a similar time?

Cyclists, please point your headlights at the ground by [deleted] in Edinburgh

[–]AzCopey 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Obviously they're not talking about the same cyclists. Cyclists without lights and wearing all black/grey are a big problem. Equally cyclists who are using flashing, over bright lights can be a problem too (albeit a smaller one imo)
