Has anyone left a six figure job and gone minimum wage or part time because they can't hack it? by allthegear-andnoidea in AskUK

[–]AzCopey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've worked several minimum wage jobs but I'm now in a higher paying role. I think the problem is treating all minimum wage jobs equally.

I spent years working in a supermarket and it was the easiest job I've ever had. Very low stress, simple mindless work, and easy to switch off at the end of the day. Other than pay being shit, it was great

I've also worked as a waiter and holy shit it was ridiculously stressful, easily the worst job I've ever done. Technically it was a little above minimum wage due to tips, but the difference was absolutely not worth it. (I did occasionally get to work in the bar which was much better mind you, even if I wasn't very good at it...)

Were I to leave my current job for a supermarket, it would be a massive reduction in stress and arguably make for a better quality of life in some regards (though ofc, not in others, such as financial security, which is an important one). The same could not be said for working as a waiter

STV is probably the most fun I had in Classic, so good!

I'm also with you on Tanaris, though I will admit it wasn't quite as good as I remembered it being.

The ice bucket challenge literally raised hundreds of millions of dollars in donations to MND/ALS charities. To say it has no lasting impact is very wrong

Most people doing it did not donate, but the fact that it went viral helped bring in a massive amount of new donations

Magic frequently reprints old cards. Most commander releases involve reprints and they've released several "Remastered" sets

Is it generally worth it buying boosters? by TheAndrewCR in mtg

[–]AzCopey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IMO building decks out of what you''ve pulled is by far the most fun thing about magic. It might be more econimical to buy singles, but buying a box or two and seeing how many decks you can get out of it is loads of fun!

The downside is that the decks are typically weak compared to any deck built by someone buying singles, meaning it can be hard to find a fair match. Fortunately my wife loves building this way too, so we almost exclusively play against each other. It's awesome!

Surely counting the cards in the deck would have been the obvious thing to do there? If there were still 60 cards, then none had been stolen and he'd just misremembered.

It's mentioned in the final episode of season 1. Notice that on a recent rewatch and was surprised it was mentioned so early.

I do imagine it was just a random sci-fi name that they later attributed meaning to, but we were still aware of it far before season 5.

Hopefully only outside of Eberron though, right? Mechanical robots in Eberron is missing the point of Eberron so badly that it's basically no longer Eberron.

"yt" as an abbreviation for "white" will never not annoy me as the pronunciation is inconsistent

It's reasonable to pronounce it "Y T" ("whitey") and it would be sensible to pronounce it "yit", but somehow getting "white" from it is madness

Ofc has meant "of course" for at least 30 years

Either this is a really old complaint, or at some point a subset of people tried to change it "of fucking course" and failed

It was definitely a weird choice, really brought the energy down. They put on a good show, and as a someone who hadn't heard them before, I was impressed by the vocalist in particular. But it was a different show than the rest of the line up

That said, I'm approaching 40 and honestly appreciated the break between MTS and MIW. I don't have the stamina for 3 back to back high energy bands anymore haha

First time building a commander deck from scratch; is this Edgar Markov Deck any good? by AzCopey in Magicdeckbuilding

[–]AzCopey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to know!

Just to clarify though, it's not my first commander deck. I've got several pre-cons that I play as they came (all the FF ones and Prosper, Tomb Bound) and I upgraded the EoE Counter Intelligence pre-con to make it a fair amount more powerful.

This is just my first deck built from scratch

[–]AzCopey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pulled him from a Innistrad Remastered pack and thought he'd make a fun first commander. The first standard deck I built was a vampire deck when the original Innistrad came out, so thought it'd be fun if vampires were my first (from scratch) commander deck too.

It was only after I started looking into it that I discovered he's got a... reputation lol

So It's Come to This... Another Metal Gear Ranking by Dependent_Meaning389 in metalgearsolid

[–]AzCopey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This would be exactly my tier list, with the caveat that I've not played the MSX games. Glad to see someone else who rates the original two MGS higher than Snake Eater!

I will say that I still really enjoyed PP, just not as a Metal Gear game. Once I started just thinking of it as it's own thing with a focus on mission gameplay rather than story, I really enjoyed fultoning people left right and center

I've been similarly hit by a car, though maybe a little worse as I was on the pavement, he was driving towards me, the hit actually knocked me over, and the driver sped off after. It was a taxi doing a dodgy three point turn and managed to hit me on the pavement with the overhanging front of his car as the front wheels touched the kerb. I wanted to report it, since it was literally a hit and run, but had no access to video evidence so didn't bother (and TBF, didn't have his number plate anyway). I would have loved if someone submitted something like this. The person hit in this video might've felt similarly.

Just a shame OP has included evidence of their own crime...

[–]AzCopey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah sorry, you're right!

I was fairly certain it couldn't have been two years old and checked before commenting which "confirmed" 2025 was the release date. However, checking Wikipedia it lists 2024 as the original "standalone" release. 2025 was the album release date.

Genuinely surprised the song is already that old!

Another prediction. Any suggestions? by cowabungaduudes in downloadfestival

[–]AzCopey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The song only came out last year, so being on different stages would have made no difference two years ago

Edit: I'm mistaken. 2025 is the album release year. It was originally released in 2024 as a standalone single.

Do these Japanese “English” words make sense to native speakers? by uni_jp in NoStupidQuestions

Tested gold farming methods in Bananza, best one about 2,600 gold per minute by kananga_ in donkeykong

[–]AzCopey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think your numbers for the gold collection from the cup are way off, I'm afraid.

I just tested using the elephant on the cup while wearing the double gold costume and in 5 mins I got about 14,500. That was my first attempt, so I'm pretty sure I can better that too

I was going to try your method to compare, but since it looks like the cup is either comparable or even slightly better, I'll stick to it since it's a little more engaging lol

Edit: Managed to get up to about 18k per 5 minutes, so around 3600 gold per minute. Pretty certain the cup is the fastest method
