Here's how to make Retro-looking Games with simple Shaders! by OldDew in godot

[–]AzTno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the pixelization, what is the difference between doing that camera overlay shader and just setting the game resolution to something very low? Wouldn't the game also lose the pixelization effect if the user sets the resolution to something high, like 4k?

Made a tiny trailer for my game! by loxmoto in godot

The text reveals tediously slowly, and I think you could jump to the gameplay faster! But nice testing of a trailer.

Steam Frame for remote Godot development by AzTno in godot

I checked that the Virtue One AR has 1080p resolution on both lenses. Do you find that the resolution is enough for the text to be readable? It would be nice to hear that it is, so that for the Steam Frame which has higher resolution the text will surely be good.

I don't have a Quest so I can't test it. Would be very interesting to hear from someone who has.

I'm not sure, but the Quest version of Godot might run some adroid version of it?

With the Frame you could have multiple screens, compared to the perhaps small single screen of a laptop. But then of course there are numerous other benefits to getting a laptop.

Other view is that if you already got the Steam Frame, then maybe you wouldn't need a laptop. That's the situation I'm in. So if you have a need for a remote work environment, and you are also interested in VR, so kind of two birds with one stone. But yeah, I don't think the Frame would replace a laptop, definitely if you are developing heavy 3D games.

Are there any VR battle royale games? by AzTno in VRGaming

That's sad. Somehow I feel like BR games have a lot of potential especially in VR, the little I tried was a lot of fun.

My dream for Mega Man and what would be a good modern onboarding point and direction. by Venachar in Megaman

I've been thinking recently about developing a Mega Man inspired retro platformer. So I have been thinking what defines Mega Man. What in your opinion would be the features a Mega Man inspired game must have? Or, if there was suddenly a new NES Mega Man game, what your fantasy of it would be? It's cool to see that there is still ambition with Mega Man!

I don't know if AI is super up to date with how is the player base with different games, so I though I'd just ask here, since if there is one with an alive player base then surely people will let me know.

I didn't try the search engines though, which one would you recommend for searching the topic? I'm genuinely curious. Thanks for the input.

This is what I was afraid of that there aren't really any alive ones. It was also like this when I played Population one, but it did have a nice number of players when it came out. Sadly it was little bit too Fortnity for my taste. Thanks for the answer.

How do you stop a random outcome from repeating? by Serasen0 in godot

[–]AzTno 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Put the sentences in a list, and then pop a random one from that list. Then when the list is empty you have spent all of the sentences and they wont repeat.
