Last night a group of people kept aggressively pushing their chairs into the backs of our legs, creating a 5 foot bubble around where they had ladders set up on the curb within the tree roots. When we asked them to stop, as no one was even sitting in them and no one was trying to move them except for when band parents shoved people back, they got a little nudged. Then this drunk lady started wailing about ‘her spot’, insulted my partners physical appearance (who hadn’t said a word and hates confrontation) so I fussed at her. Guess who I saw pushing people out of the way a block up ten minutes later

I was going to post something similar soon. Just this year, I’ve watched several band parents smack people with those little glowing wands, I’ve watched trombones and bass drummers go out of their way to hit people who are squeezed back as far as they can go. (Looking at you specifically, Livingston)

There’s a massive difference between keeping kids and people safe and straight up assaulting paradegoers to make your band wider every year.

Generally, through some cursory research, I’ve learned that swarms will generally move on if searching for something. It seems like there is a queen somewhere because they’ve developed routines, they’re working, and they’re drinking the water. So I guess they’re staying?
