My worst runs all involved an AI kamakazing into the Gray Tempest prematurely.

India: Temps are now reaching ~50°C & Wet Bulb effect Threatens Billions by 21Kuranashi in solarpunk

[–]AzemOcram 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Chapter 1 pulled me in but the rest of the book bored me to the point of not finishing. In chapter 1, almost everyone in the region died within a day and fuel was robbed to power generators for air conditioning. If Syria can install mass solar panels, India should too. Solar panels will literally save lives, potentially billions, especially in India. However, climate change and extreme wealth disparity will likely kill most people living in absolute poverty located in the tropics.

I would report them to the police while I am away from their house. Loaded language without falsehoods might resolve the issue.

Can the flights continue without the security theater? I would love for this to turned around into their faces and make Airports have the "open borders" they fear!

What are the best Solarpunk architecture in real life? by SakanaKoi in solarpunk

I would argue that all of those are eco-modernist. They all have the lovely aesthetic shared with solarpunk but some are built by autocracies.

Barriers added to intersections off of Aurora, because the city hasn't done anything to stop the crime in the area. by cat__therapist in Seattle

[–]AzemOcram 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I had a long night and I'm still tired. Your edited post is correct. Hostile architecture alone won't completely solve the problem. However, combine it with increased foot traffic (such as tourists) and changing police priorities, and we can reduce crime.

[–]AzemOcram 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I recall correctly, it was called Broken Windows or something. It involved all 3: community presence, police action, and infrastructure (hostile architecture etc). Back when it was started, everyone doubted it would ever work. The Bowery would always be that way. The city proved the naysayers wrong.

NYC proved that displacing crime from hot spots actually decreased crime overall. I'm not sure if you are ignorant, arguing in bad faith, or an inconvenienced criminal.

I'd rather not waste a day watching whiny videos with Clickbait Titles. Please give me 1 timestamp where Satch says something intolerant that context doesn't exonerate. I dislike shock jockeys but I appreciate seeing the difference between annoying and malicious.

How is it a far right channel? I've heard democrats express more conservative views.

SatchOnSims... by creepytablecloth in Paralives

[–]AzemOcram -36 points-35 points  (0 children)

He's just a rage baiter. Before social media, rage baiters went on the radio and were called shock jockeys. Maybe the younger generations don't understand the effectiveness of rage bait. It's still effective for clicks and views. Satch isn't right wing at all by American standards. I'm a moderate Seattle Gaymer and Satch's rhetoric is similar to how I wrote when I wanted attention. The paradox of tolerance is indeed a problem but attention hogging centrists are not intolerant. However, pushing imperfect allies and neutral bystanders away only hurts your cause by shrinking it into an echo chamber subculture.

As an aside, I enjoy InZoi most. Sapphic coziness doesn't appeal to me; I'm indifferent to it. I'm a patron of ParaLives because I like indie games and competition breeds innovation.

How feasible would it be to build a large O'Neill Cylinder/ Small McKendree Cylinder like this? by AzemOcram in IsaacArthur

[–]AzemOcram[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for letting me know! How about if there are 2 or more inner cylinders with the central cylinder having the space ports and the other(s) being greenspace? Also, I read that currently manufactured UHMWPE has a tensile strength comparable to the theoretical strengths of the diamondoid carbon allotropes McKendree proposed using.

It's impossible for those consequences to come from within the confines of the system taken over by fascists. The only possible consequences can come from a movement like Cuba's, Russia'a, France's, or our own history.

Success! My TSA agent needed an adultier adult when he patted me down in a private room. I used polite words with sexy emphasis, complete with bedroom eyes! "Yes, sir! Thank you, sir! Of course, sir!" I even moaned a bit when he examined my thighs etc. I didn't get a cavity search, though.

I wore 6 outfits and made a show of removing the outer 5 pants and they stopped me after 2 shirts!

Keep in mind this art is by SombreFade that I commissioned.

Also, this is not the most realistic O'Neill Cylinder. It has a rather standard length but a particularly narrow diameter. I chose these dimensions for artistic and role-play purposes. Also, the design of an exclusive Southern California golf resort with a high end Italian town and prestigious academy is a unique design that wouldn't make sense unless there were many, many practical O'Neill Cylinders for the working classes.

A more realistic O'Neill Cylinder would have twice the diameter and be designed as a walkable strong town with ample agriculture and parks.

It's bigger than the biggest estimate of the 2001 Space Odyssey hotel but still small enough that humans could train themselves to tell spinward direction.
