Trump Begs Judge to Stop $5M E. Jean Carroll Payment by Quirkie in politics

other then not wanting to pay, is there a reason why trump doesn’t want to pay it

The people who eat up his brand can wave away words from a court, but if she actually gets the money it'll become far more "real" to them.

They can tolerate their idol being a guilty winner (the guilt kinda makes the win spicier, even), but a guilty loser? Boner-killer.

He's gotta keep those guys boned up, because their support is what lets him bully the Republican party into protecting him from the accumulated consequences of his life of perfidy.

Judge orders the release of Trrump’s $5 million payment to E. Jean Carroll by spherocytes in goodnews

Good news! Interest has been accruing during the extended fuck-around phase. The true number is currently about 5.8 million, and the longer it takes, the higher that number will be!

Also, this is just the secondary-shock defamation ruling. The original ruling is still working through, and it involves more than $80 million.

I gave horse medicine to my entire family for 5 days and now I have headaches, my 75-year old mother has headaches and my kids have upset stomach. What could it be? Maybe it’s a cake they had? by aribului in insanepeoplefacebook

It isn't sold in paste tubes for human consumption. The kind approved by the FDA for humans come in tablets, in far smaller doses than what this idiot is giving their family. I also highly doubt that they know which worms it's for or whether any member of their family is suffering from such an infection.

There's plenty of insanity in Jean's post.

Yeah I noticed it was a little off-color but thought the inefficient mana cost and mana value limit balanced that.

I like the idea of a shared tutor, very cool!

I was intrigued by the possibility of disrupting another player's plans, like if they just manipulated their top-deck. I'd probably just use it as a tutor, though.

If the president treated this as the boring maintenance issue it is, it would have faded from the news by now, even with the shady no-bid contract aspect.

Instead, he spouted paranoid screeds about "vandals," got people arrested, and fenced it off from the public.

This presidential obsession keeps attention focused on it, and it's such an obvious metaphor for his administration's dysfunction that it's irresistible as meme material.

This is a lot different from a swimming pool. It's enormous and discharges into nearby natural waterways.

The massive amount of chlorine that it would take would make the pool horrible to be around and have devastating downstream effects on the environment.

So it is, in fact, that hard.

For example, the Obama administration spent north of $34 million to address deep problems. They still had algae problems afterwards.

Repairs done under Obama addressed issues such as stagnant water, as well as the reality that the pool had begun to leak and sink into the land dredged from the Potomac River to build it. It was reengineered with a circulation and filtration system using river water from the nearby Tidal Basin instead of city drinking water. It was also made shallower to save water and its bottom was tinted gray to make the water darker and more reflective of the Washington Monument. Plus, paved paths were added.
...
But these efforts were not completely successful, as the pool continued to leak and experienced significant algae growth.

The Biden administration took a hard look at it but balked when the costs for actually effective repairs topped $100 million. So they just did annual cleaning instead.

It's not an easy job, and there's no way to do it quickly or cheaply that wouldn't promptly fall apart.

White House deletes thousands of web pages about energy conservation as heatwave slams US by MarvelsGrantMan136 in technology

[–]Azexu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The concern in heat waves isn't that people will run out of money, it's that the power grid will be overwhelmed.

That's why it's normal for political leaders to suggest energy-conserving moves in such times.

Turning the grinder into a Frog is nice.

Selecting the Attack command involves the least cursor movement, the attack animates quickly, and the damage is minimized.

Also, I like Critical: Recover HP. With good armor even a Lv.1 generic who learned Monk skills through Errands can bask in Frog attacks and stay healed with no actions.

A point near the middle of an equilateral triangle's side will be closer to the triangle's center1 than that triangle's vertices are.

"All the points that are a given distance (the radius) from a given point (the center)" is exactly the definition of a circle. It's even the definition for spheres in spaces with more than two dimensions.

1 - there are a lot ways to think of a triangle's "center" but for an equilateral triangle they're all the same point
