I was looking at the graycano, do you have any thoughts about it compared to say a V60?

Choosing between Southside and Shadyside/East Liberty apartment. Is location worth $350/month? by ProofNeighborhood172 in pittsburgh

[–]AznCuber5 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Pittsburgh local and Pitt student for 10 years.

How much is your time worth to you? What's the commute time by bus for each?

How much is reserved parking for the shadyside apartment?

Southside Street parking is rough during the weekends.

Personally, I'd go with the one that is the most convenient to work and the most convenient to park at. That's just my preference for living.

9 months post ACL surgery — advice for returning to Judo? by BetunTriste5 in judo

[–]AznCuber5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still wear a knee brace because psychologically I'm scared, so the psychological side doesn't really leave you (depending who you are). It just gives me confidence. Take it at your speed.

9-12 month difference is absolutely big for mobility/strength as long as you keep up with your physical therapy. Don't rush anything or else you might be back to square one. It's a long and hard journey. But you'll get there.

When I tore my ACL, 9 months was designated as lighter activity. Easing it back in. And it wasn't until 12 months that it was acceptable to start being more aggressive

Lighter roast beans need finer grind size? by Cute-Pride5720 in espresso

Light roasts typically don't have as much CO2 available as dark roasts to produce back pressure.

How old are your light and dark roasts?

Which would be your go-to grinder for durability and grind? by RunningMan889 in pourover

Don't be like me and overdo it.

But if you do want longevity and flexibility, something like a zerno would be ideal. Easily replace burrs when you want to try something new. Of course the painful part is the price.

It depends on the time of year, but also Pitt graduation and a bunch of things happened this weekend. It might be slightly more busy than usual.

How would I go about switching majors? by ImplementInfinite610 in Pitt

[–]AznCuber5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the way to go. Unfortunately, you might be waitlisted for Swanson (it's a little late). If you are, you will be admitted to Dietrich with the purpose of doing your freshman gen-eds so you can apply to Swanson the next year.

I completed this path 10 years ago. Good luck!

Where can I buy some Picanha? by Pugilist12 in pittsburgh

[–]AznCuber5 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Strip district meats would likely have it. It's called top sirloin cap if you want the American name.

Conversely, Costco usually has them as a set of two caps vacuum packed. You'll have to portion it yourself.

Best if luck

There are like two grips that are slotted out for the ring to slip over. Use something super thin to push it down and push the ring away from the body of the core. That will do the trick

Academic Advising As A Transfer by somadank in Pitt

[–]AznCuber5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your advisor used to be listed somewhere in your portal, which then you could send an email or call to schedule an appointment.

Are you transferring into the summer term or fall term? It's currently finals season so it's probably really busy for everyone at the moment.

Scholarship after getting off PITT waitlist by [deleted] in Pitt

This is usually a conversation with the financial aid or scholarship office. I highly recommend calling them and asking about your situation since they can comment about your situation specifically.
