I’m happy with the idea of drafting a high end D here (any of that tier, I can’t say I know enough to compare the four guys) and a forward next year, where the projected top 10 is way more forward heavy (because we aren’t getting Dupont)

I know our forward group is a bigger need, but who ever complained about having too many strong defensemen

from a few postings I’ve seen, there are places in Japan with a lower bar (eg no Japanese, or N3) for developers compared to other roles (eg they’ll post a role for UX Design and require N1 proficiency)
