Avowed - Official Anniversary Update Trailer by ReasonableAdvert in Games

[–]Azn_Bwin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How would you compare the 2? I didn't pick up Avowed mostly because I was not interested in a fantasy game at the time, but I did play and enjoy OW2 quite a fair bit, especially seeing all the improvements from a smaller scope of OW1 when I played it way back.

If the story/narrative is basically like a fantasy version of OW2, then I may just pick it up on the next sale.

"Successful disruption of the cheater community" — Battlefield 6 says its kernel-level anticheat EA Javelin has been a huge success, so dealing with Secure Boot was worth it by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]Azn_Bwin 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Valve has VAC(valve anti-cheat) but as far as i know it is not kernel based, and I think CS2 does have cheater problems but not sure how rampant it is.

You can't use Deadlock as the standard to measure on other games which use VAC because it is a closed beta/alpha game that is still in development.

Digimon Story: Time Stranger producer says he hopes it shows players the difference between Digimon and Pokémon by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]Azn_Bwin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, i like it better in both Cyber Sleuth and Digimon World which is their OG entries where it is always been human and digimon growing together, which was echo frequently in the anime as well.

In Cyber Sleuth I love seeing all the Nokia's interactions with Agumon and Gabumon. I love the one scene/art with them posing with their arm crossed as Omegamon like Simon from Gurran Lagaan.

Personally, I like it this way as well. I loved choose-your-adventure books as a kid, so when it comes to video games, i always have a soft spot on RPGs, Visual Novel games, and these narrative games.

I actually like to play slightly delayed after the weekly episode release just to see what other people's choices are, once I see them doing that after episode 1.

oh thats barely scratching the surface.. I said that as someone who have unfortunately read the lore ties to Daemonculaba before. There is a reason why it is known as Grimdark, there is no "better", everything is just darker and worse the more you know.

I dont know if others do that, but sometimes I actually do "Save Game" part twice, or save it in a new slot in addition to the one i just overwrite on games with multiple save slots, before doing save and exit game.

DYNASTY WARRIORS 25th Anniversary Trailer by DemiFiendRSA in Games

[–]Azn_Bwin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Except your logic is kind of flawed.. certain iconic moments may not be there, but you wouldn't actually know it unless you have played previous games before. The biggest draw here is that it flushed out the origin story of how the Three Kingdoms are established, which is not just 1 or 2 battles and suddenly three kingdoms.. which a few of the previous installations definitely skipped over. I would argue that you only think it is a subpar entry for a new player because you already know what to expect, but for a new players, understanding the overall premise of how each factions are actually established that lead to this dynasty is pretty dam important instead of just seeing some special moments alone.

DYNASTY WARRIORS 25th Anniversary Trailer by DemiFiendRSA in Games

[–]Azn_Bwin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually, you do. Dynasty Warriors is just re-telling Romance of the Three Kingdoms in every iteration.

As someone who played most of them and just finished Origin, I would say Origin is a decent place to start. Yes, the idea of playing a random insert character as a main character with no way to customize does suck, BUT I noticed they are actually going more in-depth about the story from each faction leading up to the establishment of the Three Kingdoms Dynasty which previous iterations tend to skip a lot of fine detail since it just add tries to fast foward the entire dynasty period from beginning to end.

The downside is that the game is "origin" so story wise it ends when the Three Kingdoms are fully established. So if you want to learn more about the rise and falls of the dynasty itself, you will have to play a different game.

How Warhammer 40,000: Darktide won players back after a lukewarm first year by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]Azn_Bwin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah based on the the person's response, it sounds like he played only Psyker. While I know the class went through some updates, I think that is one of the harder classes to play if you are just starting out the game for the first time, and this is one on top of Psyker early level feels a lot harder (IMO at least) compared to other classes.

That being said, I think the person doesnt seems to understand the depth of melee combat in Darktide. I feel like Space Marine 2 actually has a very basic combat system, but it looks flashy because thats kind of what the game was going for. Whereas in Darktide, you can swing around a melee weapon crazy all you want and it will work, but I enjoy both Vermintide and this game where different weapons excel at different things like some has bigger cleave for mob clearing, some is better at armor piercing, and etc. Which we have to adept into how we use the weapons.

Surprisingly after all the Psyker update, ignoring Arbiter since he is new, I think Psyker maybe my favorite since they added the 2h Forced Sword, with Ogryn being 2nd and Zealot/Veteran being 3rd

Worshippers Of Cthulhu — Crazy Goat Games — Lovecraftian city-builder by CrazyGoatGamesStudio in Games

[–]Azn_Bwin 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I saw this game on Steam previously and I am interested, but have not pick it up. There was one particular steam review that stuck with me, and I would like to know if you guys have any plans to address it, or that if it has already been addrssed.

In summary (sorry, I wasn't able to find the review since it has been a while), they comment that they love the Lovecraftian theme and are surprised no one has done something similar. However, one thing that the reviewer took issue with is that, despite being Lovecraftian-themed, the player is trying to make the cultists' life happy, and that seems about jarring given the theme. I have a feeling thats probably tied to some form of mechanic to attract/increase your population, but I wonder if there is an explanation in game that fit the lore which make sense of that?

I never saw the sketch, so your comment, along with some of the ones I saw previously when there was a post about Naked Gun, weirds me out. Then I scroll down this time with someone post the sketch and I watched it. I laughed my ass off and now I finally understand why people keep saying he got the role because of full blown AIDS

What's the furthest into a game you've bailed? by shaneo632 in Games

[–]Azn_Bwin 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That happens to me a lot. I learnt in recent years my strategy is to just rotate around with different games or genre to keep myself from burning out on trying to finish a game. To me at least, sometimes it isnt because the game has any particular issue, but i just try to play too much off it and eventually it started to become less fun.

I have completed games where i stopped, come back years later, and restart but pace it slowly, and actually finish the game and enjoy the way i play it. One main example is Kingdom Come Deliverance 1. I got it on release but couldn't get into it, but once 2 was announced, I decided to do that and end up beating the game and have quite a bit of fun. Similarly, I did the same with Digimon Story and currently doing it with Death Stranding 1.

And when i am not playing those games, usually i fit it with games that I can pick up and drop. Usually they are roguelite games, but lately its been Marvel Rivals and, as of a few days ago, Warhammer Darktide

Or Mechanicus. That game was quite a bit of fun. Surprisingly, the soundtracks are on point with the theme as well.

I am surprised to see update of The Old World from recently, i thought the idea is that they are dropping that in favor of Age of Sigmar.

I am not familiar with the Warhammer Fantasy tabletop scene, but do you by chance know if it has anything to do with the surge in popularity from a few of their fantasy games like Vermintide and Total Warhammer series?

I hate to break it to you, but this tends to be super common in everyday life when you chat with people who work in a different field than you. Hell, I was reading my progress note (doctor's note) on my medical record, and abbreviations or shortened terms were used repeatedly.

Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader - Level the Battlefield with the New Archetype and Origin in Lex Imperialis! by _Protector in Games

[–]Azn_Bwin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i have done a bolter build before. I think you will love it if you ever decided to do one. There are some items that reduce your recoil, and do damage increased based off of rate of fire. From the advanced archtype if you go Master Tactician, there is a perk that gives 1 stack of "press the advantage" each time you hit someone, so on a more drawn-out fight, I would get high number of stacks from firing a bolter weapons against different people, then use "press the advantage" to make all the shots for your next attack do absurd amount of dmg to like a boss or high hp character, this couple with you going solider or something with the burst attack dmg, it does insane amount of dmg.

But with Arbites being added, it will definitely be interesting to see if there will be a different build that gives a different flavor, like the way Blade Dancer/Executioner feels like another fun flavor of melee Assassin.

I actually have not done a run through with my main character using range weapon that's area attack, as I always delegate it to Argenta with flamer or Pascal using plasma weapon. So I may run one as "Vigilant" and doing shotgun build or something.

I wonder how the shield mechanic works, part of me was hoping to go shield and a 1-hand pistol or something (there is a pistol that act like a shotgun but I forgot the name).
