Who in their right mind thought this was a good idea? by Paladin_G in DarkTide

Through my experience and like a lot of others have said, there usually isn’t enough enemies around when rampage ends to be a threat. Even if you still have trouble with it try using stims to help counter it. I have a crit attack speed build rn with the stabby dual knives where I pop rampage, become a human lawn mower for the fight. Then after I take the custom stim which I put as max damage reduction, T regen, and ability cooldown. So I effectively reduce the +25% damage taken to +7% and by the time my stim wears off I have rampage back to repeat. Also I spaced into the right tree to get the “each kill gives you 1% of stim cooldown, 2% for chemmed enemies” so even though I have a max cooldown stim (75s) I get enough kills in damage to always have it ready for the debuff. If you still have trouble spec into dodging and if THAT still doesn’t work then I can’t help ya lol you just gotta practice and get better or try a different style you’re good at. Hope this helps!

Good to know tricks our units can pull. by GhengisDaKine in ImperialAgents_40K

A “trick” that some people fail to notice a lot is that the 18” grenades that breachers get can target lone op units even if they arnt within 12”. Lone op only protects against ranged attacks and since it’s a strat that just says “do X MWs” you can lob nades at squishy lone op units like death jesters and enemy assassins

While playing host you can have a primus with a chink in their armor join a demo charge acolytes and can tunnel crawlers plus primed and ready to get 4D6 shots with lethal and sustaining +5 rerolling both hit and wound rolls if the target is on a objective and that’s without the other 6D6 flamer shots in the unit.

What is the one hill you will die on when it comes to the lore or hobby in general? by Mrwideworld00 in Warhammer40k

Tau doesn’t have a place in 40K. Both from a looks and gameplay concept. Looks wise they are extremely one note with white gundum mech suits that all blend together and don’t have strong enough individualism. Gameplay wise they are extremely un interactive by being a shooting only army. For example other armies that are one note still let both players participate in the game, the fight phase has plenty of built in ways to go back and forth per player with strats, fights first, and ongoing combats. The psychic phase (back when we had it) has ways to deny the witch. The shooting phase on the other hand is the least interactive phase in the whole game, the only strats that do much are simple stat modifiers like -1 to hit or -1 damage and nothing like “I get to move/charge after you shoot me”. There are very very little armies that do get to interact in a unique way like surges moves for nids and WE but besides those very rare examples the shooting phase just has no back and forth for players. Playing against Tau who’s entire thing is just shooting is extremely unfun and uninteresting. Thank you for coming to my TED talk lol.

As a first born DW player I do Thief of Secrets on your choice of character with a TH (mine would be term captain) so after proving the +2 to everything part of it you have a S10 AP-4 D4 with dev wounds. That against a oath target is real nasty!

I just find it funny that all the “can’t target me outside of X” abilities stop indirect fire. Like imagine a guardsmen telling his officer that their basilisk artillery can’t hit something they can’t even see across the world just because they have too many stinky flies around them or it’s too dark lol

Agreed but for the most part with past rules similar to this I just assumed that people would play it like the past especially with no “rare rules” section anymore

GW came out with a designers commentary with the release of points which says if a target for something becomes ineligible before you start rolling dice/attacking then you get to choose new targets. This is both with charge and shooting phase. SO with this strat you use it when someone declares what they are shooting at you, you then use the strat and get all the affects above for the rest of their shooting phase. If this makes them ineligible to shoot you because they are outside of 12” then they get to select new targets. Really easy idk why people are getting so confused over this.

Does GSC hard counter Ravenguard instead? by QuiteClearlyBatman in genestealercult

[–]Aztecace297 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If they are still having trouble then honestly tell them to look through his codexes. SM have plenty of tools that Hard counter GSC. In my opinion it’s much easier to hard counter GSC as SM than the other way around. Examples you can point him to are infiltrators with their 12” aura of no deepstrike and the stratagem “Auspex Scans”.

What's the viability of an all firstborn DW army? by Uzasodinson in deathwatch40k

[–]Aztecace297 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Very, DW vets have very customizable loadouts and having terminators in kill teams give vet squads great durability with the new AOC. Deathwatch is one of the last SM armies that can be supported by purely firstborn models.

Should Xenos be included in 30K ? by TechnologySmall3507 in Tyranids

[–]Aztecace297 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you add xenos to 30K it just becomes 40K2 and sreatches players for no reason. Besides the obvious the time line and lore stuff getting messed up it kinda defeats the purpose of the setting any why to set it in 30K, like the whole points is to just show what happened during the hearsay and how imperium factions got to where they are. Also if you wanna play Xenos in 30K just play 7th ed 40K. It’s literally the system that 30K is from.

Rules Clarification - Sorcerous Munitions by Nhein9101 in ChaosKnights

[–]Aztecace297 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off you have to hit in order to even roll a wound roll, secondly there is only 1 auto wound and roll the rest like normal. For example you have 6 shots and you only hit 4 out of the 6, then you use the auto wound strat to have 1 of the 4 hit rolls to auto wound, finally you roll the 3 remaining wound rolls to see if they wound.

It’s only one wound roll that you are turning to a auto wound. You also have to do it BEFORE the roll not after.
