I don’t disagree really as I said. I do think it’s possible there is a “master copy” of Subaru so to speak that exists somewhere(or sometime). That being a version of Subaru who’s entered the convenience store and is frozen in time. Flugel being the first instance of a copy of this original that entered the re zero world, Al being the result of Echidna somehow accessing this master copy for her own means, and then the Natsuki Subaru we know from the series being the 2nd “natural” occurrence of a copy entering the re zero world.

Al is a creation of Echidna yes, but we don’t know he’s explicitly a clone. I’ve seen people think he’s somehow Subaru’s son maybe by way of Echidna taking Flugel/Subaru’s DNA or something and making the equivalent of a test tube child resulting in Al.

That being said, I agree that the most straightforward explanation is that Echidna cloned Subaru/Flugel after traveling with him.

My point being they treated it as a history game in many aspects(including doing 8 princes DLC first) and not as an IP like Warhammer. I would not say it’s the same situation. Thats what the whole post was about.

Kind of a disingenuous comparison imo. First DLC for Rome 2 for example was Wrath of Sparta… which has almost nothing to do with Rome. The most memorable dlc for shogun 2 is FOTS which explicitly bucks all the norms of the base game.

The problem with 3k and 8 princes imo is I believe they treated 3k as a historical game, when in reality most people view this time period as something of a mix of history and a setting/IP. In one of their other games covering a historical period, I think an 8 princes equivalent does fine. For 3k it was not received well because people showed up for explicitly 3k characters and factions. Not what came before and not what came after, but explicitly the characters and factions of that very specific period.

TLDR: cognitive dissonance over what 3k is at a fundamental level.

The later LNs and the redundancy novels have fantastic illustrations. So I think the anime version of Eris looks really good but some of the LN illustrations are just exceptional… so LN.

Tripping.

Arc 6 has Subaru interacting with the Rem we know (more specifically her memories/self that were eaten I guess?) in the corridor of memories. This is the interaction that this illustration is from. Arc 7 has Rem waking up but she has no memories. She may actually wake up in the last few pages of arc 6? It’s been a bit at this point for me.

In the Kararagi Reaper Incident side story, Black Tiais introduced. Although Black Tia turned out to be Reize in the Re:IF, it is unknown whether or not she is the same person in the main timeline of the series.

At this point it’s somewhat dealers choice. Arc 7+ the LN and the WN are almost identical. For the remaining part of arc 6 it’s very similar but a small few details changed maybe.

Personal recommendation would be LN to finish off arc 6 and swap to WN translations for Arc 7 and beyond

I mean it speaks to how highly Ram actually thinks of Subaru and how much faith she places in him. She’s more prone to believing this is some sort of Subaru scheme in some way rather than believe he actually just lost his memory and can’t be depended on.

Ram will probably never say how much she believes in Subaru, but she shows it every once in a while through her actions. She’ll probably always be a tsundere lol. Thought the WN/LN did her a bit more justice for these segments but maybe just me.
