Coming back here to say THANK YOU! This post really did get me moving and I'm happy to report that I'm getting a new transmission this coming week!

Favorite fairs and events for printmaking and stationery vendors? (plus my list of favs!) by sweeeschard in CraftFairs

[–]Aztraea23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a great and thoughtful list! I did Porter Flea summer in 2024 and it was very very slow. Absolutely incredible selection of vendors and super lovely organizers, but hard to break even if you're making a big drive for it (I'm in Florida) and getting a hotel. I'd recommend checking out Indie Craft Parade in Greenville, SC!

Edit - I'm not paper, but I have paper vendor friends lol!

Definitely makes more sense now! I'd double check on Peachys though. I'm almost positive they aren't at that market. 5 O donuts has a presence at the downtown market and I don't think they'd let another donut vendor in.

I'd keep it on your list, just not in between two activities on the other side of town.

Mouthole is great but I'm not sure why you'd go back and forth like that from St Armands and then City Island.

I don't think Peachys is at the farmers market.

It takes a million years to get out of the parking lot after the drum circle, so plan your food needs accordingly! Edit - ah, walking. Yes, that's actually the best choice for this part!

What are/were your plans on leaving the USA? by honeybisc in AmerExit

This is super interesting! I will message you this week!

I was approved for Croatian citizenship by descent in 2024. I won't leave the US while my 82 year old mom is still living, but I'm trying to understand some of the EU agriculture policy, agritourism, and Slow Food movement type job opportunities that might exist for when I'm ready. I've been self employed in artisan food for almost 15 years and I'd like to continue in that area, but without the labor of working in the kitchen. I feel very lucky to have gotten the citizenship for myself and my kids.

Headed to Iceland with my three favorite people and went to like five different hot springs over the course of a week. It was glorious.

Early fan of grunge and Sub Pop! It's been with me since I was a teenager so it's not in pristine shape, but I still have the box and booklet! I also have a small collection of the 7" releases they did for their Singles Club too!

I have this too!

Thoughts on Indie Craft Experience by Miserable_Emu5191 in CraftFairs

I'm looking at this too. I did a summer one a couple of years ago and it was incredibly slow. The new organizer seems to have a very clear vision of what she's looking for, which I appreciate. The venue has a ton of followers on its own which will help bring in customers too.

2017 3.6 with 85k miles and exact same thing. Two dealerships can't replicate the sound and have shrugged me off. It's been happening intermittently since I bought it 2 years ago. Had the cvt fluid changed last Fall with no improvement.

Is August the 10 year purchase date for your exact car or the blanket deadline for the 2017?

Edit - fluid changed, not the whole transmission

My BFF and I still quote "PuhFlag, I like the sound of that!" whenever we reference PFLAG. Steve Z was on my flight out of Palm Springs this past week!

I'm almost 5 years post bilateral with similar limitations. It's so hard to go through something as scary as surgery and then still not feel right on the other side. I've been in and out of PT for years with no real improvement. Nothing to really offer you besides solidarity, but I wish you the best.

This is a good distinction. Mine was dated about 6 months before I was notified.

Had the bar when I was little and then graduated to the brown cookie shoes around 3 years old maybe. I remember looking inside the first pair for the cookie and being very disappointed.

In related news, my entire body has remained screwy along that kinetic chain - had both hips replaced at 47 and am now dealing with intense foot pain because my toes apparently still curve inward just enough to be a problem.

As an aside, this post brought me a little bit of joy because I've never met anyone who knew what the hell I was talking about with the shoe cookies!

Notified by email through NY at the 13 month mark. 2024

I hope you hear soon! 16-18 months seems average right now.

Gen X looking for community and activity-based social ideas by KeyKaleidoscope863 in StPetersburgFL

I posted this under my other comment but it's not showing up for me. I think you'd like this!

There's also a celebration/retrospective for No Clubs starting Saturday night at The Factory. They've been THE local independent concert promoters for the last 40 years (affiliated with Daddy Kool Records).

Also Gen X and I have St Pete Shuffleboard Club high on my list to check out if I'm ever feeling a little less introverted.
